Worst experience at this location yet. Despite empty tables, the lady behind the counter told me the reason for our 45 minute wait for our food was due to the restaurants busyness. We had ordered miso soup to start and miso udon for my 2 year old. Got the udon 45 minutes later and no miso soup. Normally we can get two orders in 1.5 hours but today we had half an order and cancelled the rest as my kid was getting too impatient to wait another 30 minutes for food. We left 2 hours later still hungry and quite upset. I received a halfhearted apology with a side of eye rolling. And the food was not worth the extremely long wait.
This place is terrible! The rice was undercooked, all the maki rolls look and taste the same, their dumplings and spring rolls are bland and disgusting, my tea was luke warm, they charge for pop, portion sizes are strange, and some rolls were missing ingredients! Gross! Won’t be back!
For me nothing can beat their lunch special: Salmon bento. Salmon with rice, sushi, spring roll and algae. Great Good service, nice decor and a good price.
Disappointed. Very disappointed with the quality of the food. It was obvious that the fry oil was stale and had not been changed in quite some time. The stale taste permeated the tempura any rolls containing it. Each roll ordered tasted just like the others and had very little filling. We left with upset stomachs, and they were definitely not upset due to eating too much as one tends to do with good sushi. Since we live in a town sans sushi restaurants and don’t often make it to the city, we were deeply disappointed by our experience and would never recommend eating there.
FAVOURITE RESTAURANT EVER. Went the first time with a friend and my god!!! Best restaurant ever! I find myself wanting to go back every single time. There is a HUGE variety and 99% of the menu tastes AMAZING. Every time I visits, I wish I have a bigger stomach. The Crab Pizza is THE best!!!! The service can be quite slow but I really don’t mind. Highly recommend it!Edit Nov 14, 2015. The food isn’t as good as before. They edited a lot of the recipes and things are either too bland or too salty. The sushi rice was a little too warm for comfort.
The service was the worst that I have been sujected too!. Visited Sushi Kanata on Saturday. The service of the sever was indifferent, crass and unapologetic. We placed our order (written out) but with the exception of the first three items were not served the remained of the meal. We were just ignored, felt that I was in a foreign country with no sense of what the civic and social norms of etiquette in a resturant should be.
Good experience .. super service. Service was very attentive and fast. the lunch food was delicious and carefully prepared. contrary to other reviews we felt it was a great value. perhaps they have changed as i found the service very good. as good or perhaps better food than hockey sushi. lots of variety and brought quickly. we will come again.30 Aug, 2014156 Dragon Roll.
