Or just hold up your phone like you would be taking a photo.Honestly the first time I have ever been 1. kicked out of anywhere 2. for taking a photo of MYSELF.The man immediately told me to get out, refunded me my order in cash and didn’t even let me explain.I’m so torn over this, the wife normally gives good service but what a great way to start the morning. I work in food and tourism and have been visiting all sorts of restaurants in Kingston but never have I EVER been treated this way.
The best home fries in town!! I love the breakfast sandwich!!This is the place to get breakfast in Kingston! I highly recommend this place over Morrison’s (weak frozen home fries) and any of the pub breakfasts which are over priced.
The food is basic but good…you order at the counter…then sit down….the food is brought to your table…simple enough…the ‘feel’ is casual, the tables rustic…the whole place is relatively small…maybe 10-12 tables…it is NOT FINE DINING…if you want that kind of ambiance you can find that elsewhere in Kingston…however if you just want a quiet lunch, or breaky…fairly priced and tasty…you would not be disappointed.The toilet facilities are something else however…when the MEWS was built they did not completely gut everything and rebuild…they maintained the basement as is…the trip to the toilets is quite unsettling…you are walking thru ‘catacombs’…you see no one…and there is a hollow feel to the place…as it it will cave in at any moment…it is a long journey for a loo…there is anattempt to keep things clean…even the walls are painted white…but you still feel you are walking thru a snow tunnel…very creepy…but not the restaurant’s fault.
Cafe Le Matin is a quaint little cafe located downtown Kingston. It has nice decor and I can appreciate the atmosphere they are trying to conjure. With regards to the food, I ordered the big breakfast. Although I found it was quite good, it was pretty standard and there was nothing special about it. For the price, it was a good deal, but again, there was nothing unique about this place to separate it from other good breakfast places in Kingston.
Sandwiches. Sliced turkey sandwich ……went there Wednesday July 23 at 340pm …ordered a sliced turkey sandwich …expected to get sliced turkey but instead got a sandwich on dried out brown bread filled with mostly dark meat ….not sliced …just chopped up and thrown on the sandwich….little or no mayo,,,I work downtown and tend to get asked for advice on restaurants that are good to eat at …..probably now that I have tried the restaurant myself for the second time and also had to wait to get waited on when there was no others in line….can’t honestly recommend it anymore.
Merely Appearances. It looks really nice from the outside, but the inside is pretty meh, and also the bathroom there is a dungeon. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre (I ordered pancakes, and they were reaaaally salty? Also I swear one of the pancakes were 1/2 the size of the others), and the prices are pretty ridiculous. If I’m going to be paying $10 for some pancakes, I better be pretty freakin full afterwards. But nope. I was pretty disappoint.
Yummy. This is a great spot for people watching. The food is basic but really good. You have to order upon arrival and pay. Then you seat yourself and enjoy.We usally go for breakfast. It is reasonable and has good portions. The food is fresh and tastes great. The restaurant is clean and the staff is helpful and pleasant.
