Dianne’s is one of Kingston’s many restaurant gems. Located near Confederation Basin near City Hall, my wife and I have been here twice. The food and service is always top notch, and you get what you pay for with this local restaurant. On our most recent visit we shared two appetizers: the tequila shrimp and the crab cakes. Both were delicious, the shrimp especially! We originally ordered the fried calamari but it was a very busy night and they had run out, the manager offered us the crab cakes and comped our appetizers to our surprise! For our entrees my wife ordered the pulled pork tacos and I had the smokehouse ribs and brisket. Both were excellent and we both took food home! As we were there for our anniversary they also gave us dessert on the house! Try their bloody caesar or their margaritas, both cocktails were wonderful!

Delicious delicious delicious! Stopped in after reading great reviews and was not disappointed: had a simple supper of spicy calamari, Brussel sprouts, and a glass of Chardonnay. With tip, it came to under $25, and was worth every penny! Portion size, flavours, and execution was great – worth a visit if you’re in Kingston!

This is one popular restaurant. We were lucky to get in without a reservation – but missed sitting on the patio. That said the street outside seemed to have heavy traffic so maybe for the best. While there were a lot of customers and some background music, the acoustics were great as we could easily hear each other through the entire meal. Their specialty is battered fish (or shrimp) and chips, but only one of us tried that. . For starter drinks, two of us had wonderfully tart margaritas (so good we had a second) – another a minty mojito. But the final member of our party received the most impressive looking – a Caesar adorned with a small lobster claw (meat included). Then a basket of crusty rolls with a bit of coarse salt on the buttery crust hit the table. Delish! For food we tried – Fish Tacos (two of us), to die for grilled Mexican Corn (have to figure out how to make this at home), tasty Vallarta Ceviche, Smokehouse Platter (meat, tortillas, slaw, beans and fries) and Jumbo Shrimp and Chips (with slaw). Great meal and wonderful service. Again, suggest reservations. oliobymarilyn.com

We stopped in for Sunday brunch and enjoyed our visit. All the staff were happy and helpful, they answered our questions about the menu. They were prompt at seating us and taking our order. My wife had the Seafood poutine, which was a nice take on poutine. Fries were great, the coconut green curry sauce and selection of mussels, shrimp and fish was great. I had the breakfast tacos with pulled pork, Guac and eggs. Very filling and great combo of flavours. We loved the setting and interior and would go back again the next time we are in Kingston

Good food. Visited here with my wife and small child. Service was great and fast. Food was good. Mussels were a little on the small side. Fish tacos were excellent. Drinks were perfect.
