This place appeals to some people, it has decent food and atmosphere with alright service. My biggest issue is when it isn’t very busy because the service tends to degrade significantly. Some of the meals also have a mound of fries without enough of the actual main dish itself.
Great place to grab a pint of beer with friends! We get Whitetail beer every time we go. We also want to get food to share but Horn of plenty is too big! We wished that they have a smaller version for smaller group of people who already had dinner before grabbing beer. Please!
Dined/had drinks here a couple times during a 3 week stay in Kingston. The entire table (7 people) ordered the brisket after the recommendation of a diner. Brisket was decent, although not comparable to a BBQ joint. Meal was enjoyed by all, and the serving size was adequate. Tried 2 house made ciders, cranberry and apple, and found both rather disappointing when compared to all of the great ciders available in the market. Service was excellent the first dining experience, but the second experience, when the pub was less busy, was not as great at all. The table of 8-10 people had to continuously flag down the male server who was unhappy to be dealing with the the large group. Did not return after the poor service the second time.
Service was a little slow but it was packed and only 2 servers. Food was great all the way around we were happy we stayed. Great beers on tap. Management might want to think about calling in more staff if that happens or get there ass out there and help. Our server was great even with the place being packed great multi tasker. I’d go back.
So so. The service was substandard my curry dish was okay but Ceasars salad was awful
Food not great. Food was rather stodgy and not enough salad garnish. Very heavy and greasy. Beer however was very good. I would drink here and not eat here.
There’s a reason why a lot of patrons come in to order JUST drinks…. My expectations were already low considering this IS a pub… ordered chicken and ribs combo and came out over cooked and very dry… throughout dinner we’d notice a lot of tables where people were having drinks BUT not eating… now we know why…. this place has good beer.. but for food go somewhere else!
