Good to very good food, so-so service (I had to ask twice to get a basket of bread and wasn’t offered a refill on my coffee), and some first-rate offerings to keep an eye open for. Somewhat pricey, but some of the food and wines are worth it.If corn chowder is the soup of the day, have it! It’s is a meal in itself. I suspect the spoon could stand up in it, it’s so loaded with corn and potatoes. Yummy! Not so the beet and orange soup, however, which just tasted a bit weird (and shouldn’t be called borscht). The daily special’s appetizer of 3 tiny frenched loin lamb chops in mustard sauce for $16 (!!!) was outstanding and a steal, to boot. And their wines on tap are good value for money.Reservations seem to be necessary prior to 8:30 in the evening. But we had no trouble going there for Sunday brunch and getting a large booth.

Fantastic food and drinks (especially during Happy hour)! Half price apps are fantastic. They are full of flavours. The service was great! The only thing I was kind of disappointed with was that the mussels were a bit on the smaller side…I’m not sure if it’s because it’s not the season…but ya! Other than that, great food 🙂

Good. I’d definitely go back to give other menus items a try. I wasn’t very hungry the night we went, so I had the Tuna Tartare. It was good, however, the blend of ingredients just wasn’t doing it for me. I did eat some of my friends oysters and would definitely recommend that!

I like this place. But given the price, and the healthy competition of fine dining in Kingston, I have only been here once. I liked what I ordered, the venison, which was the special of the day. I found it quite good, but venison is one of my favorite meats, and in the end, that’s all it was, quite good, nothing spectacular. I remember service was also quite slow.

Past its prime… We’ve gone there several times over the years. The place used to be absolutely top notch. In recent years, however, every time we go it’s just a little bit worse. Our last visit, the salad was soggy and the main dish (stuffed chicken) was very very salty. My wife had scallops that were chewy. As for the service, well there is no spark and no interest, which shows. Music was loud and on a warm Sunday night there were a total of 8 patrons outside, 6 inside. Given the price, and other great restaurants in Kingston, that was our last visit there.
