Shoulda Stuck to My Initial Impressions. When I first moved to Kingston my real estate agent had recommended this restaurant to me. However, when I went in and looked at the menu it lacked the usual favourites: Shanghai noodles and Singapore noodles. Plus there was a section of food that was non-Chinese. Which made me think that perhaps this was not an authentic Chinese restaurant. This weekend, given the limited selection of take out places in the west end of the city my husband and I decided to give this restaurant a shot. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein dish mistakeningly thinking that it was vegetables on top of crunchy noodles. What a disappointment that it was not. On top of that the dish had no seasoning whatsoever. What a waste of money! I guess it will be another year before we get desperate again for some variety and try this place again.

Wholly disappointing. The egg rolls were the definition of mediocre. They tasted absolutely generic, like something you might have found in the frozen isle of the grocery store. Far too much crisp pastry and too few vegetables on the inside. Overall very bland. The General Tao chicken was once again, absolutely mediocre. The sauce tasted like a mere generic red sweet and sour sauce (aka not homemade). The chicken was not tender at all. Once again a very bland dish offering nothing worth remembering. Chicken fried rice is near impossible to screw up. Surprisingly enough I found such as simple dish to be the most enjoyable of the lot. Not implying it was excellent by any means, but again, you can’t really screw up fried rice. Even considering that, there was nothing particular great about this either. I also ordered a bowl of rice on the side which lacked that typical Asian texture and tang (for lack of a better term). Seriously just tasted like homemade generic basmati rice. This restaurant is the antithesis of authentic Chinese food. (delivery man was a gruff, middle-aged caucasian man in his 50s). While I have had more atrocious Chinese food in my life, this restaurant was still not worth any of the money I spent. Ignore the mostly positive reviews–they’re from poor university students with no concept of fine food.

It’s been a year since my last visit. Quite the improvement. New tasty dishes, you won’t leave hungry. People are friendly, polite and quick.07 Feb, 2011Good rice.

They dont know what they are doing.. Ordered Chop Suey, chow mein and a chicken dish. All three looked the same. Basically bean sprouts were used to fill up the bowls with a bit of shrimp and chicken thrown in. The worst Chinese food I have ever had and I have had a lot of chinese food. I demand that this restaurant be shut down!!

It’s good. Employees are super friendly, prices are very reasonable. Definitely a nice place to go to if you want cheap good quality Chinese food.

Excellent Tasty Food. We dined there couple weeks ago, the place was packed and we went with a large group of 12 friends. Loved the selection of beer and wines. We were very satisifed and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Come get sick on the food!. This place is unclean!http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=304868906 Nov, 2011Dirty restaurant. A while ago the Kingston Whig Standard posted on the front page of their newspaper a review of Leechee Garden that exposed the restaurant as being repeatedly substandard regarding hygiene. My family used to dine there regularly because we liked the taste of the food — however we were all nearly sick to our stomachs to learn of the dirty conditions. AVOID.
