Very disappointing. Over the years the quality seems to have slipped. Not nearly as good as it used to be.
I was born and raised in Newfoundland and there’s nothing better than a little bit of home away from home, And that’s what Mike Mundell’s offers. From the Newfie Poutine(Dressing, Gravy and fries), the buckets of Riblets and Salt Meat(Which I am in every saturday to pick up a bucket for Sunday dinner), Birch Beer and Pineapple Crush, Purity products and all the fresh seafood you can want. Never disappointed when I goes into the store. Also they’re really good with ordering in products for you that you want from back home that they dont really sell here up in the mainland, Like my Caramel Logs and Tunnock’s Tea Cakes. Mike Mundell’s has kept my gut full with all the good stuff from home and I can’t thank him enough for that.
Disappointing. We were planning on getting an order of 2 pieces of haddock with fries. The girl at the counter told us that there were 2 pieces of fish in the one-piece order so we got that, assuming we would find a reasonable helping of fish when we got home. We also bought a small coleslaw. When we opened the box we were amazed to see 2 tiny scraps of battered fish and way too many fries. No coleslaw. How the girl forgot to put the coleslaw in the package is a mystery to me, as there was nobody else in the store. Given our experience, I didn’t get the impression they were anxious for repeat customers. We’ll go elsewhere next time.
Yum fish. Homemade chips, well informed staff, great ideas- fresh fish and fries made as you order- can’t go wrong at Mikes. Has the most amazing crab/lobster dip- wife eats it with the home made potato chips.
Great Fish & Chips. Nice and close to home and work. Great fish and chips and you always get more than what you ask for. Staff are very cheerful and always friendly.
