This was one of my favorites on my last visit to Kingston in 2013. It’s where I first tasted those amazing oil and vinegar combos from Kingston Olive Oil. Bottles are on your table along with small plates to swirl just the perfect amount of each. So a great way to have that final goodbye meal. Our waiter Kyle was phenomenal, the food wonderful. The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 4.5 for this visit was the kitchen was very slow to get the food out. Only time this has happened here so feel it was a fluke. Kyle dealt with this beautifully, so gets a perfect 5, but felt the overall rating should reflect this delay. This time our group had very eclectic meals that included – Italian Tuna Sandwich with Frites, Bruschetta, Meat Board, Clamari Fritta, Aglio Olio with gluten Free Pasta and Shrimp and 3 of us enjoyed fresh, tasty Mojitos in a few different flavors. Because the meals were delayed we were also give some Rosemary Salted Almonds and Beef Carpacchio. Highly Recommend and if you get Kyle as a waiter say hi. oliobymarilyn.com

Absolutely delicious. Had friends in from Ottawa and wanted a restaurant that would appeal to my girlfriend and I as well as our teenage daughters. The online booking was a breeze and all was good from there on in. Dinner was delicious! 3 of us had pasta and one of us had the mushroom Risotto. The Pasta was divine and the Risotto was declared to be the best she ever tasted. The service was great even though it was busy (Open house weekend at Queens) and the waitress never made us feel like we should move on. Will definitely return again.

The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are exceptional. I had the Beef Carpaccio and Arrabiata with chicken. The only flaw was the chicken was slightly overwhelmed by lemon and it conflicted with the spicy tomato sauce. Other than that, the ingredients tasted fresh and the homemade pasta was firm yet tender. A delicious filling meal with moderate cost. I trusted the server to choose a nice Cab Sauv and she did a great job. All in all an 8.5/10

We had to wait about 45 minutes for our order with a 3 year old, which wasn’t too great of a start. My husband had the duck, and said it was having an identity crisis. The flavors were all so strong and fighting with one another. As a former chef, he was surprised at how a practicing chef let this pass. He had also asked for no onions because of a stomach issue he has, but got onions anyway. Fail. The waitress said that we would get a kid sized burger for our 3 year old. It was an adult sized burger, she couldn’t even get her mouth open that big to eat it. Her fries were charred to a crisp. Fail. I had the seafood linguine. While the flavor was was nice, the pasta was old and dried out. It was chewy. Not sure how an Italian pasta place can screw up pasta, but they did. Fail. The waitress was quite obviously new, as she kept standing in the doorway watching and waiting to see if people were ready to order or finished with their meals. This made me very uncomfortable, and actually quite irritated. We won’t ever be going back. Big FAT fail!

Reservation???. My daughter made a reservation for tonight to celebrate her one year anniversary with her Beau. When they arrived, OLIVEA had no recollection of it. They went to Milestones (Kingston) instead and had a great dinner. You reap what you sow.
