Saigon Delights. Worst service I’ve ever had in my life. Don’t bother.
Service sucked…. Spring rolls were great.. Main was mediocre. The service was absolutely horrible. They need to get it together. I did not tip, which I always do but he did not deserve his wage let alone a tip. Kitchen staff were out in front area playing on phone… Won’t be back… So much better downtown..
Siagon Dump. The Pho consisted of a big bowel of dish water containing rice noodles, a few bean sprouts, some boiled beef and chopped cilantro which, if I bit into it, was all I could taste. I wouldn’t pay $2 for this, much less that $7.75 they charge. The No. 6 Boong Jay Yaw Tit Noong was no better. The cut-up spring rolls were greasy, the fried pork was overcooked and the greens and rice noodles were tasteless. The greens consisted of a few shreds of lettuce on top of some thin, very short pieces of boiled noodles. The noodles had to have been cooked in plain water and served that way because they had absolutely no other distinguishing taste to them. Again, it was a $2 dish that cost $9.50Never again will I set foot in this dump on Gardiners Road.
New Gardiners Road location. I had an excellend lunch here today, at the new west end location! They are in a building that used to be an italian restaurant, which they are obviously changing as they go – beware the bad walls and some of the crazy plastic grape vines are still there! Had the #4 tofu salad roll, #6 and #13 with chicken…all great just like the other locations. It’s nice to have a sit down or takeout option so close to home in Kingston’s west end!
Simply one of, if not the best Oriental restaurants in the city and the best spring-rolls anywhere. Excellent food, large portions, great service that is fast and good prices. Only downfall is they are closed Sundays and holidays.
GREAT!. My husband and I love the #6 with chicken – delicious! We have eaten food from all over the world in our travels and give a super thumbs up to Saigon on Bagot.
