While Stooley’s serves rather agreeable food and provides a convenient and place to eat just off campus, I find it hard to recommend them.During my trip to Stooley’s, they prominently displayed advertisements for a text-in 15%-off-your-meal coupon. Finding this appealing, I attempted to redeem said offer. Unfortunately thier system appeared to be down: I showed this to our server who alerted the owner. While the two of them tried to figure out the underlying issue, my fiancee and I had our meals, which as previously mentioned were agreeable. After eating I went up to pay and find out what had become of the afformentioned 15% off. I was told that because the issue lay with the PR firm that was running the promotion and not with the restaurant itself they would be charging me full price. As an aside, I find this blatantly unacceptable, as a customer I had done my part in the arrangement; the onus then lay with the business to honour the advertisement. I raised this very point, and after some persistence was given 10% off which I took, as the remaining 5% was not worth my time.I can not in good faith recommend a restaurant, or business for that matter, that would disrespect the customer like that.

I hold this restaurant in the highest regard. I have met the owner, his son, and the guy who runs the kitchen most of the time. All have been professional, but wow, this Pam lady! As a waiter I am appalled at what she thinks is an appropriate level of service for a restaurant, and is sure to make me not want to return. Overall the restaurant is somewhere I recommend to friends, however this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Eh.. For how good their location is, it’s a shame that Stooley’s doesn’t ramp up its menu or make some basic decor changes that would make going there a much more enjoyable experience. Offering a basic breakfast menu on weekends would be a start.
