Always Great. I have patronized this pub since it opened. Fresh, creative food served quickly. Great music and any sports game on the many tvs. Best chicken wings and fries in Kingston. I have never been disappointed. Child friendly also.
Miss S. I have had many meals at The Iron Duke on Wellington over the past 3 years. All of which were amazing! Local products were used. There is always something a little unusual offered on the menu. It’s a warm and comfortable environment. It’s very clean, and wonderful people work there.
Today, Remembrance Day, my sister, a veteran, was turned away from this establishment while in full uniform along with another soldier in full uniform all because they had a coffee from a different establishment in their hands. While it is common practice for restaurants to not allow food or beverages from other establishments, you would think an exception would have been made on today of all days. Especially since these coffees were given to them to help warm them up after standing in the cold, rainy weather during a Remembrance Day ceremony. I admit to not knowing exactly what happened as I was not there however, if my sister was offended by it, then there was something to be offended by.
Outstanding Specials. My husband and I visit the duke a couple of times a month, usually for dinner and drinks on Friday nights. My husband always sticks with the Cheesesteak sandwich. He claims there’s no way anything is going to be better than that sandwich, so why bother trying anything else. I usually try the daily specials, and so far I haven’t been let down. This past Friday it was a blackened chicken breast on potatoes and asparagus with blue cheese sauce. Absolutely to die for. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for my next visit! Service is always prompt and friendly. This is one of our favorite spots in town!
I live this place. This fish and chips is my favourite item. Staff is great.
Poor Display. After our table of five (4 drinkers and 1 DD) ordered 6 pitchers of beer, six individual drinks, and 6 plates of food, our DD was still charged 2.80 for the one glass of pop she had ordered during the night. It’s 10 cents of syrup ladies and gentlemen on a table with a bill of over 300 dollars… I think you could have let that one slide. Disappointed with the lack of common courtesy and the feeling of being nickeled and dimed.
Horrible food, slow service, drinks were good though. Won’t be returning….
