Great Bakery!. I have had difficulty finding any decent gluten free food around Kingston, and when a close friend of mine suggested The Silly Yak I had to try it out. The food that I took home with me was fantastic. I have been back a few times and the staff have alway been great. Best gluten free bread I’ve had. Brownies and cookies 10/10!
Highly recommend. Unbelievable gluten free food, try this place for sure. Nice setting and friendly staff. They have a bakery or eat in restaurant.
Excellent!. Best gluten free food ever!! I used a Groupon too, no issues whatsoever. Conditions of the Groupon are pretty clear, unless you haven’t read it. Place was nicely decorated, staff friendly and knowledgeable and best of all, you don’t have to worry about cross contamination or sacrificing any quality in the food! Will definitely be back in the New Year:)
Terrible. My wife and I decided to try this place after the glowing reviews, honestly, if what we had was the norm, this place is going under. My wife ordered pesto tomato soup, which she couldn’t eat (try a little tomato sometime instead of a handful of dried basil and chopped garlic.) She couldn’t eat it.I had the Jambalaya which claimed to be made with jumbo shrimp .In reality, I found one, yes, believe it or not, ONE, small shrimp in the entire bowl. No pizzaz, no flavour, just a little spicy hot.I have to admit, the bread served with the meals was fantastic as was the Caesar salad, as for everything else, forget it..Even though we live in the neighbourhood , we definitely, won’t be back.
Bad Service. My wife and two kids drove to the Silly Yak from Ottawa (2 hours) to use two $20 Groupon’s we purchased. They say one per visit but we figured since we were buying $60 worth of food to sit down and another $80 to leave with that they would let us use the two Groupon’s during the one visit. They said we could only use one per visit like it was stated. So we asked if we could make the purchases in two seperate transactions and we were again told no. We used the one Groupon on the sit down meal but decided that we would not take the $80 worth of food to go because we were so disipointed. As a result they lost a $80 sale and are business cause we won’t be making the drive up to Kingston any more. It’s nice that the food is all gluten free but the bad customer service is not worth the visit.
Nice atmosphere, I had the Asian organic mushroom carrot soup. Very nice. Coffee was top notch. Rating 7/10
