I had heard such great things about The Toucan, but was very disappointed. The staff were rude and uninterested in us and their job. The food wasn’t very good and had to be sent back. The place is fairly grungy, but that was to be expected.
Great Patio in the summer in a quaint alley. Good selection of drinks and decadent onion rings. Service is fine. Just avoid indoor, dark and a bit smelly.
Pretty average and generic pub food. However, I do like the place a lot. The decor is attractively unusual, they play a lot of soccer games on their TVs, and there is a good selection of beers to choose from.
Yum!. The Toucan has always been a family meeting point, and for years it has always satisfied every one of us. Last night I went back, as I was visiting in town, and I devoured a steak and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and peas. Delicious! If you’re looking for a cozy pub for a nice meal and a pint among friends, The Toucan is a no-brainer.

Visiting from the US & really enjoyed the food, atmosphere & service. Met local who was getting married. Had a great lunch!
