We decided to stop by, after taking the kids to McDonald’s. We were at the fish store next door. I find it difficult to find a good tasting Jamaican food restaurant. We order Jerk chicken with rice and peas, Ox tail with rice and peas and Curry chicken with white rice. The Jerk was seasoned well but a bit on the salty side.The rice and peas were good. The Ox tail was seasoned well and tasted good. It was cooked well and fell of the bone. The Curry chicken was ok but was under seasoned and the white rice was sticky and overcooked. Sorry forgot to take a pics of the Curry chicken. I would eat there again but I would buy only the Ox tail. The coleslaw was not bad either.

There was no wait up at all as I came in on a lunch hour which is between 11-2… As a vegetarian I didn’t really see anything about it on the menu written on the lunch special wall or the main menu in general- so instead of asking what they can do for me I figuredI would just order rice and beans with coleslaw which they must have. I got it to goand now thinking back I wish I asked for some jerk chicken sauce for the rice to make it less bland but the rice was really good even by itself. Just one thing- there were barely any beans 🙁 I was saddened that the rice to bean ratio was not equal … It was disappointing but the coleslaw made up for any disappointment. The coleslaw was AMAZINGGGGGGG but far too small. Next time I think I will negotiate with them to give me half rice half coleslaw so that the coleslaw will not be separate in a small container.. I wouldn’t mind less rice anyway as the portion is huge. I would highly recommend for them to put more beans in the bean and rice… There were probably about 10 and I am not exaggerating. They were good though. Don’t know what kind of beans they were but inside they were white? Never saw that before- and on the outside they were dark purple. Don’t know if I paid 4.95 for the rice alone or if the coleslaw was included in that price or if it was just a free perk but I would even pay more just for more coleslaw. If the lunch special is 4.95 I wonder how much the dinner is? Not sure if the price was tweaked with no meat being in my dish… But anyway, I will definitely return. The pleasant service/atmosphere was humbling.
