We came here for lunch as a family of four, ordering three lunch sets to share among us. We ordered Cantonese Chow Mein, Green Curry Chicken and Salted Fish with Chicken Fried Rice. The chow mein was on the small side, but the noodles were crispy and delicious. The rice had a generous portion of salted fish, which made it smell fragrant. My favourite dish was the curry – it was full of coconut flavour and had just the right amount of spiciness. I ate a lot of this!

Honestly the food didn’t match what I was craving but that’s my fault. I was craving a fried noodle type of deal from one of those fake chinese kind of joints but this here is an authentic cuisine and you won’t find that kind of poorer quality here- if you know what I mean. I tried to describe exactly what I wanted to the guy I was saying do you have like normal fried brown thin soft noodles and he said the only thing close to those noodles is chow mein but I know that dish is watery and I just wanted like dry ones you know. So the order process was a little confusing because I made it so and ended up having wet chow mein which I hate. The noodles were good though – they weren’t brown because they weren’t fried but they were yellow ish, soft and skinny which I like but simmering in that chow mein juice which I’m not a fan of. It was kind of a put off because it didn’t satisfy my real craving but I tried to make it my own by dipping the noodles in sweet and sour sauce to make it more take out ish. But that didn’t fight off the weird smell of the original sauce. The vegetables were really fresh but I don’t like them when they are cooked only a bit and still rawish. They were too fresh? Lmao my review probably makes no sense to anyone.. But I think someone who genuinely loves chow mein would have been more than satisfied with the dish. I got the lunch special which came to 9.00 with tax but honestly not worth it in my eyes. Yeah the portion was big and they gave me tea but I would have appreciated more variety to be honest like a soup or spring roll. Don’t know if other places have that in their specials or if it’s just strictly the dish but I don’t know. I set myself up and probably won’t come here again. I like more Canadianized Chinese take out and everything in this plaza is like straight from Asia. So nothing bad with this place just my personal preference. Good and fast service though and place was pretty clean. Nice decorations as well. I’m currently feeling bloated and unhappy though. Haha #hotmess
