Travel to this region of Ontario at least twice a year and always on lookout for new and exciting dining experiences. This year we stopped at both Riva and The Ivy. We were wowed by both. Exceptional food , service and ambiance. Best so far. Keep it up.
Spoiled Anniversary. This is the second time I have tried the Ivy Restaurant and I have to say I won’t be going there again. Although the restaurant and scenery are wonderful, the food is pretentious, over priced and poorly presented. I think it is time for a new chef. A totally spoiled anniversary dinner.
Completely lacking in customer service and business decorum. The restaurant is lovely and the setting is spectacular, but the same can not be said for the food and especially not the service The food is ordinary and pretentious. The service from host to server to event planner was lack lustre. Having had visited the location to scout out a venue for an upscale wedding, I had gone to try the food and to speak with management. I was not only rudely greeted, but was told to go see the event manager who happens to also be the ice cream parlour girl. In my experience, restaurants are only too happy to meet with potential clients to book weddings that can bring in a minimum of $18,000 before taxes and gratuities. Not only was I meant to feel like I was a nuissance to them, but I was given very little help and it often took days to get a response to emails. Not to mention, when I actually wanted to put a deposit down on, they decided that they would need to update their prices before they could provide a formal agreement for the event. I had to in the end change my venue. The new establishment treated me the way I should be treated. There is a clear lacking of professional management at the Ivy, which is a shame since it is so lovely. Could have been so much better.
