2018/07/17Four of us were out for a day trip, and we were in Lindsay at lunchtime. After a quick search, we decided to try St. Daves Diner on the south side of town. Mostly farm fields in that neighbourhood, but we did see quite a few cars parked at the diner, so we thought it might be an okay spot for lunch, and it was. It looks like they added a large room to the original diner, making the restaurant quite spacious. It was much less than half full when we showed up shortly before noon. In general the menu contains typical diner fare, plus a whole bunch more. SWMBOs mother had the Tuna Salad Sandwich, which came with a decent dollop of tuna; maybe too much, because it was difficult to keep the tuna from falling out of the sandwich. SWMBOs sister chose the Peameal Bacon on a Bun. Simple sandwich, done right. SWBMO opted for the Chicken Fingers Platter, which came with four meaty pieces of chicken. Maybe a little bit overdone, but the plum sauce gage it some balance. I went for the Western Omelette with Cheese. It was a true Western, with ham, onions and green pepper. Fluffy eggs, filling meal. All in all, a satisfying diner meal.
