This is our third visit to Abruzzi, and it remains the destination for locally inspired Italian cuisine in London. We enjoyed the antipasto plate with a nice variety of local artisan cheeses and cured meats. The olives were particaluarly popping! The beef carpaccio is a must, with its delicate flavor beautifully matched with the horseradish aioli. I only wish it came with more than one quail egg. As for our second we enjoyed the beef tenderloin accompanied by green beans, chanterelles and gnocchi. Perfection. The grilled gnocchi with pecorino is also wonderful. This is our favorite restaurant in London, even if some of the wait staff are a little too serious.

I have enjoyed Abruzzi many, many times since its opening. Was back a couple of weeks ago and was really pleasantly surprised at the experience. Everything about the night was a level above what I can remember. Service continues to be very professional and personable and well timed. The menu continues to impress on paper with thoughtful choices but the difference this time was the quality. Each main at our table arrived beautifully plated and the ideal temp. But the best part was the flavours. Each was ideally paired with the items on the plate and everything was cooked to perfection. We decided to enjoy some desserts and those were also no less of a ‘wow’. had to compliment the pastry chef to the server as these were inventive, beautiful to look at and really, really good. Frankly a real surprise and treat for a London restaurant. That pastry chef has a bright future. Simply put, Abruzzi is a winner and a staple of a great night out.
