We had some great suppers, lunches and breakfasts here. Any special requests were well catered for and we had a few!! We sat for hours, enjoying our conversations in interesting and relaxing surroundings. Great for a large family group.
Sunday Brunch Celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Delta London Armouries, enjoying the Sunday brunch at the Armouries Grille. A good selection of food was on offer, including two really good roasts (Beef and Pork), a choice of fish and poultry in great sauces. The eggs benedict was excellent. Made to order omelette station and pasta station was a wonderful addition. Great ambiance with live music, and attentive staff. Truly decadent desserts. Reasonable selection of vegetarian and health conscious dishes. Enjoyed the meal for sure. Will definitely visit again. Wish they offered a mimosa, made even with a sparking juice.
Very good brunch, nice selection.
Expected better. My parents both really love the prime rib buffet (starts at 5:30) but I wasn’t overly impressed with it. It’s not a huge buffet like you’d picture from the Mandarin; it’s much smaller but higher quality. My mom’s beef was very tender while mine was very tough (i got well done and she didn’t, which might have had something to do with it). The buffet is all you can eat and there are a couple different salads (Caesar, spring mix, pasta salad, coleslaw, chickpea salad) which were alright and there was also soup and buns, which I didn’t try. I did like the whipped butter that was available! The beef was alright and there were potatoes and steamed veggies, which were both pretty good. There was also gravy and a fish option for those who don’t love beef. The desserts were literally disgusting; completely artificial tasting and like something you’d find at a grocery store. In general, I expected more considering the other rave reviews I’ve heard. However, the service was great and our waiter was really awesome.
Class…just class. Going to the Delta makes you feel like a G. What can I say? The bricked atrium interior combined with the classical music playing off in the distance has that impact on me. Our waitress Lyssa was very friendly and always around if we needed something. I ordered the Caesar salad ($10) and the New York Strip ($30). I am a lover of the Caesar salads and let me say that I have yet to find a Caesar in London that tops what I get at the Grille. I’ve been to the Delta on 3 separate occasions and the quality of the Caesar is consistent. It’s not soaked in dressing, the lettuce is fresh and crisp, and the Parmesan on top. Now on to the strip:Very high quality meat, not too fatty, juicy and perfect. I got the Strip a medium rare, just a tiny bit of pink on the middle. The entree also came with roasted veggies. Carrots, herbed potatoes and shallots with just a hint of butter on them. I didn’t need to add any salt or pepper, the entree was seasoned perfectly, another sign of a talented chef. The food feels like it was made with some passion, with someone who put some pride into their craft. I appreciate a fine steak, I’ll admit it. When someone does a great job they deserve some sort of recognition. Brendan, you make a good steak.
