I find this Bernie's location to be far superior in it's food than the location in Sherwood Forest Mall. However they are are owned by the same person…

We went for brunch and the food was horrible. I would have rather ate at a super motel 8 for breakfast. Everything looked extremely old and unsanitary…

Wouldn’t recommend. I got a groupon for this restaurant because I really like the one in Byron. I am now closer to Wonderland, so I went to this location instead. I’ve been craving a steak so when I seen one on the menu, I ordered it right away. It came with mixed veggies, my choice of potato (I got bernies potatoes or something like that) and a salad. The salad was literally lettuce, and a slice of tomato. Pretty disappointing. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out well done. Our waitress was so absent I didn’t send it back because I knew it would take too long to get a new one. The veggies were COATED in oil, it was disgusting. The bernies potatoes were really really good though. My mom got the club house with fries. She couldn’t eat the bacon because it was so undercooked. She got her mayo on the side and wanted more. Since our waitress was absent, we asked another girl for some. She wasn’t able to bring some since she wasn’t our waitress (what???). So when she was more than half done her sandwich, our waitress finally came and we asked for more mayo. By the time she brought it, she was finished eating. The waitress brought the bill and charged us for the extra mayo we didn’t even use!!Long story short: definitely don’t dine here. Not only was the food unsatisfactory, it was ridiculously expensive for the quality!
The Berines in bryon is amazing and way better service. They only care about the drink sales. The food is horrible. Go to the bryon location.
No third chance. First bad meal at Sherwood, give it a second chance, happened again so I addressed it with a polite e-mail to manager who apparently lost it in junk mail, when it was finally found I was contacted by phone and offered a gift card by mail which has yet to be seen almost a month later. To bad ,we enjoyed the place but I think the problem may be management more than anything.
Burnt and dripping in oil is not how I like my fajitas. We just got back from having dinner at Bernie’s on Wonderland. Wow what a terrible dinner. The waitress was lovely but the food was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t even believe that the cooks would allow food to leave the kitchen in the condition it arrived in at our table. My vegetable fajitas were completely blackened (as in crispy, brittle blackened bits, not in a nice way) and swimming in a massive amount of oil. I hate complaining about my food and sending it back but as I tried to squeeze the oil out of the burnt vegetables and put them into my cold fajita shells, I really wish I would have sent it back the minute it arrived at our table. My partner had the vegetarian pizza and it was ok and certainly at least edible, but very underwhelming. When the waitress came back to our table to ask how everything was, I showed her the massive amount of oil in the skillet and said that she should tell the kitchen they really need to lay off the oil and not burn people’s food. We definitely will never eat there again. I feel queasy just thinking about the fact I tried to eat that garbage.
Fathers Day Brunch June 2013. My son, daughter in law and grandson and ,my husband and I went to the Wonderland North location for Fathers Day Brunch. We ordered 4 adult brunches 2 chocolate milks and one coffee. I had water. We did not order anything for our 20 month old grandson because firstly he eats very little and secondly they usually bring snacks from home for him to munch on while we eat. Our waitress brought the drinks and we never saw her again until she, brought the, check. No coffee or water refill. The eggs were dry, the bacon undercooked, too much mayo in the, salads , chicken was dry, French toast cold, melon the only fruit available etc. The only thing I ate was a piece of toast that took several minutes to make myself. My meal definitely was not worth the price! We did not enjoy the meal . I paid the check and left what I considered a generous tip considering our waitress was mostly absent and the food unsatisfactory. When I got home I,happened to look at,my,receipt and realized that I had been charged for a child’s buffet and also a child’ s chocolate milk which we did not receive or order. Do restaurants even charge kids under two ? I have tried to e mail Bernie’s Bar and Grill to complain but have had no,response back from, the management. Our two sons and their families do frequent this restaurant but none of us will again. A very, very unsatisfactory meal and experience!!!!! I do not reccomend the Sumday brunch !!!
If you’re not going to try, close up shop. I’m always skeptical of eating at new, one-off places. Bernie’s provides a perfect example of why I feel this way.Food:For the money, I expect quality food and an appropriate portion size when I visit any restaurant. At Bernie’s, I ordered the Reuben sandwich with a Caesar Salad, which cost an extra 99 cents. The sandwich itself tasted fine, but was impossible to close. The way it’s presented forces you to saw it into two pieces and then fold it. Instead of Frankensteining it, I ate the sandwich with a knife and fork. The meat portion wasn’t all that generous compared to some place like Angel’s either. I felt like I was eating a super, overpriced deli sandwich, which being a cheapo ruined my appetite. Now the salad almost made me send my food back. When I order a Caesar, and pay extra for it, I expect it to come fully loaded. Instead I got a small bowl of chopped lettuce mixed with Caesar salad dressing and some croutons. No bacon, no cheese, no nothing. My meal cost $13.50 – that’s not value. What I ate was worth $6.00 at most.My girlfriend ordered chicken fingers, which were straight up cooked from frozen, and sweet potato fries. The fingers tasted flat, old and cold. The fries were extremely thin and the amount was maybe a small handful (she also paid $2.00 extra for them). She sent it back after eating a piece, which eventually caused an issue with our bill.Service: Our waitress took our order, gave us our food and disappeared. When we sent food back, we had to grab some random employee who wasn’t working the tables. She didn’t tell our actual waitress it happened and we were billed for it. After speaking up, it took about five people around a computer to correct it. It almost sounded like they were debating on removing it from the bill. It’s not that big of deal ladies, but pointing at our table and looking over makes me want to dine and dash. This isn’t high school and as a customer I don’t appreciate feeling singled out for your restaurant’s inadequacies. As a side note, the first four women I saw working here looked exactly the same. Long dark hair, 90 lbs. and same build. My immediate guess was this must be the owner’s type. I couldn’t even tell who my waitress was it was that bad. Kudos to the dirty old man who probably does the hiring.Verdict:Nothing special. It’s a shame places like this can continue to operate and not be closed down.
