Food was great, really enjoyed it had a grilled octopus and a seafood soup, the service was slow as they were understaffed that night but overall good friendlyservice.
The atmosphere was nice. We went for a London Liscious. I had the yam chipotle soup for an appetizer which was delicious. The entire meal was fresh and tasty.
We had a party of 6 this Saturday. Che had awesome service and even better food. It was amazing to find that they cater to a vegan diet as well. The cocktails were not to my liking and they did not carry cider. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
I’ll keep this brief: service was poor. Our waiter brought our entrees and we didn’t have drinks – didn’t offer wine or anything. Walked away. Brought cappuccino at the end of the meal in a cup overflowing with foam, nor saucer. Got all over the table, had to ask that it be cleaned up. Really un-attentive. My paella consisted of rice (a lot of rice) shrimp, decent size, mussels, sausage. No peas, no, red peppers. Bland. The rice was filling, and not worth the $25. Espresso was decent, not great, but decent. Would I go again? Maybe – this was my first time; everyone needs a second chance. Given the cost though, I am a weary. These folks should be on their A-game. The food should explode in your mouth with flavor – bland paella in a Latin restaurant is a sin. The chef should confess.
I really wanted to like this place, and the food was not bad but I don’t think it was worth the price that it was. For three people, including 3 drinks, 3 appetizers, 3 entres and 1 dessert, it set us back $180, or $60 per person. I realize that that’s not unheard of, and I certainly don’t mind paying that much for an exquisite meal, but I simply don’t think our meals were exquisite and therefore not worth that price tag. I ordered the chicken mole over zoodles. It was a very simple meal and the zoodles were cold. My friends ordered steak which came with fries, and lamb which came with mashed potatoes. They were simple, modest and sorry to say, kind of boring, dishes. I think Che Resto Bar would benefit from creating more dynamic plates, with more than 2 types of food on them, more flavour, and simply more options as their menu was quite small. I just wasn’t impressed with the quality. Having said that, the service was fantastic – we were greeted by the very nice owner and our waitress was great. The decor and ambiance of the place is stunning as well. I will try Che Resto Bar again, if only for the drinks and atmosphere, but I do hope they take more risks with their dishes in the future.
Service was horrible, the food was okay and the drinks were excellent.
