We were new in town and was hungry for Chinese food when we came across this place. We thought we we try it due to the good reviews and high ratings…we were not disappointed!Food was tasty, portions were generous and the boss was especially welcoming!Would definitely recommend this place and frequent it on a regular basis!
Went here for lunch after hearing good things about it and were not disappointed. Ordered 3 shared items that I would describe as large servings. Ate what we could and bagged the rest for a future full meal at home. Kind of having an eat in and take away meal in one visit. The place was large, clean with fast service, particularly our huggable waitress who took the time helping us to decide from the many Items on the menu. We ordered 3 dishes which we shared.Started off with the pork ,salt egg congee. Congee is a porridge like liquid meal with rice as a major ingredient. It was absolutely delicious and a very proper signature item.We shared two other dishes including the shrimp and chicken with mango and the sizzling beef with black pepper. The beef actually was served on a skillet and arrived at the table smoking! Both meals were unique, hot, served promptly. Partner would have wanted more veggies with the meal but I guess we will deal with that on our next visit. Some might find it a bit pricey but stretching out a second meal from your dinner will quickly dismiss that notion. Would have no problems returning.
Went there with a Chinese friend, and had an amazing time. Ordered the Satay Beef Vermicelli Soup and Eggplant with Salt Fish, they were pretty good. Would recommend the General Tao Chicken, was quite savory. It is easy on the pocket considering the quality of food and service that they provide.
I went here on a date, having never been anywhere like this. My date ordered because I was clueless, and everything was amazing. Ordered shrimp and scallop congee, sizzling beef in black pepper sauce, and a third dish I don’t know the name of. But I will definitely be returning and recommending it to anyone who’s tired of the same old ‘Chinese’ food!
Went here with a few coworkers. It was a nice time. Congee was really good to try fir the first time. The staff was really friendly. We got a bunch of dishes and all shared. About $10/person. With all the options out there this is a bit behind on my choices to return. Still good though.
They RAISED their Prices!!! Definitely NOT authentic Chinese food! Used to be good, but now price is HIGH. They serve dessert first rather then last, we ordered fired donuts among hot and spicy beef with soup, and noodles, they bring the donuts first, OK, if I filled up on donuts, how am I going to enjoy the main dish?! Plus that hot and spice beef was not spicy at all!!! Not even hot!! Really disappointed!! They put the beef on top fill the bottom of the plate with cheap sprouts which are tasteless and make the whole dish bitter!! Their beef is the most soggy beef I ever tasted!! No decent drink, we ordered strawberry milk tea, it was way over sweeten!! Tasted harsh to the throat!! Horrible experience!!! Services was sloppy! Price is way high for the whole experience you get! We got a 61$ bill for just two people. Not recommended!!!
Recently, on two separate occasions, I had Congee Chan. The first was to celebrate the Lunar New Year; we ordered the lobster baked garlic rice, half a roast duck (which was extremely fatty), the maggi seasoned beef, broccoli with mushrooms, and a seafood congee. I found the congee to be extremely homely and comforting. While I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster baked rice, I found it to be heavily drenched in the cornstarch sauce. I would have enjoyed it much better if the rice was more fragrant and dry, but with the freshness of the lobster. That being said, it was a generous portion and we were all satisfied! My second experience involved ordering takeout from this place. I got the beef tendon egg noodle without soup. Although likewise a large portion, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the dish. The egg noodles were soggy and lacked texture. The broth lacked flavour. The most unbearable part of all, however, was that the tendon smelled nasty and tested unclean (there was even a hair embedded in it).
