Recently, I decided to visit one of my favourite restaurants, Garlics (of London) and, smartly, I remembered to take my camera.This restaurant has a comfortable and attractive interior; the staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and always friendly. The food is appetizing, well presented, and tasty … and I would not hesitate to recommend the Pan-seared Trout and the Lemon Tart,My only caution is the uncommunicative ‘manager’ … but that shouldn’t spoil your visit.
Note to the cooks: salt doesn’t make up for bland meals.The portions were small, and the staff are rude. We left hungry, and disappointed. Will not be back.

love this place, coming here for years and it is always consistent. They carry our favourite wines and the service is consistent. parking is a challenge sometimes in the winter, but overall, still one of our consistent mainstays to eat out in downtown London.
This was the first time I’ve been to this restaurant. My bf has been several times in the past. I like the restaurant decor with the brick exposure. Overall our experience was pleasant. I had a bite of my bf’s glazed salmon, I don’t like salmon, and thought it was quite good. I had the gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese. I would like to try the restaurant again.
After all these years as a Western undergrad in London, I was surprised I hadn’t eaten at Garlic’s till now. Great place for a meal any time of the day! Their service and plating are fantastic. Everything on the lunch menu looked delectable; I had so much difficulty making a selection. Our table ordered a plate of Garlic Frites to share, and it was devoured in minutes. Even their focaccia bread to start was really yummy. Next time I’m in London, I will definitely come back to Garlic’s for another visit.
Dropped in for dinner on Saturday before the basketball game at the Bud. We had reservations and I would guess by the crowded rooms, that you would wait a long time on the weekends for a table.We were seated immediately and our waiter visited us about 5 minutes later for drink orders. The drinks arrived within 10 minutes and our order was taken. The menu included a reasonable set price for many combinations of appetizers, main course entree and dessert but my wife and I decided to go off the grid and order a la carte. I ordered the frites and garlic bisque for appetizer and soup and my wife ordered the Caesar salad. We were very satisfied with our preliminary choices and would particularly recommend the Garlic Parmesan frites which was just very tasty!I ordered the duck breast confit with Perogies and my wife had their fresh mushroom pizza.The duck was okay and tasted good but was not worth the high cost and would not order it again. My wife’s pizza was fabulous- I stole a piece and it was so filling she took almost half home.We finished off the meal with cappuccinos and would not hesitate returning.
