Loves it!. Before I begin my review, I just want to say that I took a look at the users who have provided nasty reviews, and for *most of them they seem to only post negative reviews, so take the overly negative reviews with a grain of salt. It seems like a personality flaw. This establishment is run mom and pop style. I give credit to some of the reviews especially on slow service. However, they have added quite a few new servers which has helped significantly. The food is simple but excellent with large portions. The menu is large with enough variety to satisfy varying palettes. They do offer refills on soft drinks contrary to one review. The food is all made to order, using local produce. If a processed ingredient is used- in my experience some cheese and ham- the staff are very up front about this. I have been a customer for over ten years, and continue to return. The staff are friendly, the establishment is clean, food is delicious and I usually end up taking some home. If you have doubts, just try and get a seat on a Saturday or Sunday. There are line ups for most of the day….. That many people can’t keep returning for subpar food, and according to one review servers that are likely to take a swing at you. But you make your own choice. See what you’ve been missing.
First Visit. I live in the south end of the city, and though I’ve passed this most every day en route to work, I’ve never gone until this past weekend. I will keep this brief. It’s clean. Our server was lovely, attentive and bright. The service was quick. HOWEVER, please do not offend my senses by the sorry, abysmal excuse for ham that you are using in your Monte Cristos and no doubt other breakfast offerings! I can’t even fathom what would possess you to serve this. I just bought a genuine ham for Easter and it was $.97 per pound.
I order just a chicken breast. It was worth $5.95. They brought me a small piece of chicken breast, fried and drenched in oil. I took one bite and it was to greasy for me to have so I told the waitress that I can’t eat the chicken because of the reasons mentioned above. The waitress said she would let the cook know. The cook put the chicken breast in paper towel, squeezed the grease out and put the chicken back on the plate for the waitress to give back. The waitress said here is another piece of chicken. It was the same one since it had a piece I cut out of it. I told the waitress I’ve decided not to eat. She charged me $2 anyway for the chicken I didn’t eat
The food is good. The staff is ok. Depends who you get. It’s a seat yourself establishment which is nice. My only bad review is watch out what you order for drinks! They do come on tiny glasses and not worth the price
LOVE This place. Absolutely friendly, awesome food, great price.Recommend this place place to everyone. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great food , bad service, no refills. I’ve been going to Harry’s for years and love the food, I’m addicted to the fries and gravey there. However, they do not offer refills for fountain pop drinks, which is fine if they gave you a bigger cup with more Pop than ice, but you get a dinky cup with lots of ice. Most of the waitresses are moody and horrible at checking on tables, me and my wife sat down on a slow day with maybe a few other patrons in the place and we got our drinks but no one came back to take our order, I tried to flag one of them down and they just gave me a smug look. I recommend this place for takeout but not sit down
Harry doesn’t live here anymore. Harry’s at the old location, 50 meters east of the present disaster, was a a staple for my wife and I, all year long. We enjoyed the old location but the new place is like a franchise place without the quality or good service. We really liked going to Harry’s for weekend breakfasts. That changed when they moved into their new location. They have the same staff but twice the seating capacity so the service now sucks. The last time we were there, they told us to take a table anywhere, which was the only empty table. It hadn’t been cleaned off from the previous tenants but it stayed that way for 15 minutes, during which time we tried to get our waitress to get us a coffee. She told us she was too busy. I asked about getting the table cleared and she almost took a swing at me. I actually felt threatened by a waitress. My wife said to man up but you can’t hit a girl so the waitress lives to provide no/bad service another day.Do not go to this crappy family restaurant unless you don’t care about service or the quality of your food.
