Today we visited this restaurant during our return trip from Point Peele national park. Restaurant is located in downtown of London. Look like this is very old restaurant but we liked the ambience. We were four people and ordered four different dishes. Chicken Mosallam, Chicken Pasanda, Chicken Tikka and Shrimp Tikka. I must say all the foods were really awesome and satisfied my taste buds. We were from Kitchener and tried almost all the Indian restaurant so far but never found taste like this. Chicken Mosallam and Naan was out of the world. We never imagined that naan can be made this much soft and tasty. If I visit London again, I will come here for sure.

I’m not a man who usually writes reviews, but I feel very strongly about the Jewel of India. My wife and I have gotten takeout from here 4 times now and it is, without a doubt, consistently the worst Indian food that we have ever have, This last time was especially egregious because everything we ordered tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The Chana Masala was runny. The Bindi Bhaji was also runny, yet managed to maintain the slimyconsistencythat only heat lamps and timecan create. The rice also had that heat lamp consistency, like a bowl of thousands of beautiful white pebbles all glued together. The pakora… was actually quite good. However, the Lamb Rogan Josh was by far the worst. The lamb had the flavor and consistency of a hockey puck! It was completely inedible and as I threw the untouched takeout container into the trash I shed a single tear for the defilement of my favorite dish.So what kept us coming back? I don’t know, maybe we’re masochists. But we are definitely never going here again. London is famous for it’s complete lack of decent Indian restaurants, but after trying all of them many times, Jewel of India is by far and consistently the worst place in London.

I have mixed feelings about this place. While the food is quite good when compared to the other Indian restaurants in London, the service is lacking. Even when we were the only people seated in the restaurant our food still took 45+ minutes to arrive, but when it did it was very spicy, just the way I like it. However, don’t expect someone to come by and refill your water and the portions are on the smaller side for the price. I much prefer ordering take out from here to avoid all the hassle, they’re usually ready with my order when they say they will be! I recommend the vindaloo but only if you can take the heat! 😉 18carrotgold.com

Not very good at all….. Used to be our go to until we tried Massey’s and realized what Indian food should taste like.Chewy undercooked rice, sloppy main dishes with undercooked vegetables-unpleasant.Oh, and overpriced too.

The best, bar none, Indian food London. Tandoor food is the finest. Have never had anything off the menu that I didn’t like. Prawn Pathia is my fav, Aloo ghobi my wife’s. Don’t expect ambiance but the food and service make up for it. Take out always bang on by an owner who shows his appreciation of your business……enjoy!

This is my favourite Indian place in London. I love it. The lunch buffet is a good deal and their menu for the rest of the day is pretty delicious. I have no complaints! And all the people who work here are so nice!
