Not much to offer in our city for home style Italian food…especially on the west side….this group has been putting out consistently great Italian for around 35 years now…when I asked Johnny, the original owner, his son runs it now… years ago he explained his mother taught him her home cooking Italian style and that’s was good enough for me. I grew up in Windsor in an Italian family of 11 and mom was an unbelievable cook.
Always good…that simple.
A Step Above The Average Pizza Chain. For years, my friends and family have urged me to try Muldoon’s Pizza. It’s been a staple in the Westmount area for decades and I ultimately decided that now was the time to judge it for myself.I ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza with thick crust for take out. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was unique and my pizza was ready within 20 minutes. It came out to roughly $23, which was quite fair for the size.My first impression of the pizza was favourable. From a visual stand point, it looked delicious and I was anxious to get a few slices into me. It tasted like a fresh pizza you would create at home and there was virtually no grease to be found. While it lacked a bit of flavour in the sauce, I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and fresh crust. I would place the Muldoon’s a step above the majority of pizza chains, but a step below my local favourites. It sits somewhere in between and that’s still an accomplishment. 7/10
Make it a Delissio Instead. Typical higher prices for a pizza restaurant that is local and not a chain but the quality is lacking. $21 for a 4 topping pizza which included extra cheese seemed fair until I got the pizza home and could see the sauce and bottom crust through the minimal cheese. Proceeded to eat my cheese less pizza but gave up when i got tired of the crispy cardboard flavor and texture. Wish it was better since its so close to home. Garlic bread was tasty though.
Hmmmm…… Well the food was a good….. alittle overpriced though. why does one have to pay an extra 1.75 for a caesar salad with your meal when they are the same price as the garden salads on the menu? also it was sooooo tiny might have been 7 or 8 lettuce leaves! pizza was good…. the waitress we had had was too busy discussing her private life so everyone could hear to check and see if we were ok! the sauce with the spaghetti was good though.
Excellent!. I have been coming to Muldoon’s for close to 15 years. The dining area is small and the wait can sometimes be long, but boy is it worth it. Everything about this pizza is delicious; from the flavourful crust to the savoury tomato sauce to the fresh mozzarella. Staff are friendly, and take-out is a breeze. Can get an XL 2 topping for under $25 taxes in, slightly pricier than most chains, but you get what you pay for!
Excellent pizza, easily top 5 in town. Ask for the thin crust.
