DO NOT GO HERE BEFORE A JLC EVENT…..YOU WONT MAKE IT ON TIME.Unacceptable! My boyfriend and I made resverations for 5:00 p.m. in order to enjoy a nice meal and a few drinks before th London Lightning game. Seems like reasonable timing yes? Well not according to the owner.I am sure we have all been ‘that’ table at one time, where you slip through the cracks of a busy rush. Although we were sat at 5 p.m we did not get to order until 5:20 (very over run waitress) she brought us drinks once in this time, she then came over to apologize ‘but the kitchen was very busy’ ( I counted 50 people in the restaurant, half already eating, which is 1/4 of thier capacity) the next time we saw the waitress was at 6:50 when our apps AND main course we’re brought at the same time.OK, I am reasonable, these things happen. However, in any restaurant I have ever worked in (several) when this occurs, the manager makes a visit to the table. When this did not happen, I requested to speak with him.He eventually came, decide to sit at our table with us as we feverishly wolfed down our food. His demenour was like a an employee who just sat down with Co workers after a busy shift. He complained to us about how unprepared they were for the night….and even sited that it is worse during hockey games. He told us that people expect to sit down and be served within 45 minutes and that just won’t happen here……which is why I wrote this review. The owner does not get it! It was not ‘just’ the long wait….it was the ONE order of drinks we were able to place, it was the appetizer and mains hitting the table all at the same time, 1 1/, after ordering. It was the wrong cutlery, it was the very hot bowls our salads were served in…….but mostly it was the complete lack of respect by the owner who did not care about our $320 event tickets which we would now miss the first 1/4 of. His rhetoric which was meant to make us feel bad for expecting a well timed well served meal. The food was decent and I expect we would have enjoyed it given a different circumstances.

Place was not that busy but staff was efficient and engaging.I had the half rack ribs with their unique Jack Daniels sauce, their signature potato soup and sides of fresh vegetables, fresh cut fries and Cole slaw. Each item was served hot. Hats off particularly to the scrumptious soup which I highly recommend.My partner had the brunch burger which included one fried egg. Said it compared favourably to one she had at Burger Works. Had the Caesar salad and felt it was good.Only negative was that it was too much food and we probably could have cut our order in half and shared but that is our and not a restaurant problem. We would not hesitate to return or recommend. An additional hats off to the very engaging restaurant manager.
Olive R. Twists is a great restaurant. Good local fresh food. We always come here before the Knights game, great atmosphere. Servers and managers are always nice. Good daily deals and now they serve an all you can eat brunch on the weekend.
