While enjoying the beautiful weather and terrific music at this year’s festival my hubby and I decided to stay in the park and get dinner ‘al fresco’! Sammy’s Souvlaki was one of the vendors so that was our first choice over hamburgers or pizza. The line up was long but that’s usually a good sign. The service was quick and organized, very impressive. The chicken souvlaki on a pita tasted fabulous made with all fresh toppings and plenty of chicken, lots of flavour, too! These pitas were pared with homemade fries that were fresh cut and cooked to perfection. I’ll be looking for this food truck again at other local festivals! Well done Sammy’s!
Address is wrong. It’s actually way over on Southdale past Colonel Talbot just outside the city. They rigged up a shelter for the old food truck that used to be downtown. I recently rediscovered it, and I’m so glad I did. The Gyro is still legendary, with huge chunks of delicious rotisserie meat. Still the best Gyros I’ve ever had.Somehow London has a trifecta of excellent eclectic wrap places (Sammy’s for the Gyro, Barakat by UWO for the Shawarma, and Burito Boyz for the… you’ll figure it out). <3
