For a long time I have searched for a great Korean restaurant in London On. Finally my search is over.I’m asian, and I used to work at a crappy asian restaurant. With that I gained the following important knowledge: The more asians that eat at a particular asian restaurant, the better the restaurant is. Asian restaurants filled with very few asian customers, are really crappy restaurants. Their the types of knock off crappy americanized food places, the worst. Because clearly restaurants filled with non asian customers, are cattering to those who don’t know what good asian food is, so they serve them crap on a plate. Soo Dam is filled with asians, every time I go, because it is authentic. I’ve never been to Korea, but I ate at a great Korean restaurant in China once. The restaurant was owned by Korean Immigrants (China and Korea border each other so their food cross over a lot), Soo Dam’s Korean food tasted just as authentic as the Korean food at the Korean restaurant in China. At Soo Dam – I’ve tried the black bean noodle, which was simple and delicious. The classic Beef Bulgogi clay pot, which is exceptionally prepared, and sure to delight! Then their was the creme de la creme – their #28 special item, the bucketwheat noodle aka cold noodle (it’s not on the menu, it’s posted on the side of the restaurant, you have to ask them for it). I love Korean Cold Noodles (Naengmyeon) the most. For a long time, I’ve searched London On for a place that serves great cold Noodles, finally I found Soo Dam is the place. And now, my long search is finally over.So please try Soo Dam #28 buck wheat noodle. It’s soo soo beeping good, cold noodles for life.

This was my second occasion coming here; the first time, we came at 2 and none of the tables were cleaned. The only worker there was washing dishes, waiting to serve the line of people that extended out the door. The second time was no better… service was extremely slow, and the tables were still dirty (only by sitting down did we pressure them to clean the tables). That being said, the steamed egg appetizer was a welcome surprise – though the egg was overdone, the taste was quite delicious! I found my al bap to be on the small side, and too salty. Moreover, the bossam wrap was small for its price. All in all, a decent experience, but I am unlikely to return.

Great tasting Korean food with generous portions. We got the pancake (crispy rim, fluffy inside, decent amount of filings), pork bone soup (a little spicy but very large portions, great texture and taste to the pork), and the mixed rice dish. Side dishes were fine, and service was very prompt and polite. Will definitely come back, and definitely a recommend if you like Korean food.

Tiny, casual place with great service. They’re very generous with the ban chan and the complementary steamed egg is so smooooth! The stone bowl bi bim bap was HUGE. And the al bap (seafood) is highly recommended stephaniealau.com

Surprisingly Good. After living in Korea for some time, I’ve always been on the lookout for good Korean restaurants here in Canada. Often times, Canadian-Korean restaurants leave an experienced Asian traveler like me feeling dissatisfied due to their high prices (at least in comparison to what would normally be charged in Korea,) and because Canadian-Korean restaurants are less likely to provide the wonderful array of side dishes that accompany the typical meal in Korea. Soo Dam is one of the few Canadian-Korean restaurants that provide both the low prices and delicious (and plentiful!) side dishes to which I’m accustomed. The main dishes are also delicious, and the service is above par. I’ll be going back again often. Cheers to them.

Fantastic service and food. We have eaten here many times. The staff is attentive and polite. The food has never disappointed. The free appetizers are a bonus. Definitely recommend this for great Korean food.

Love this place! The service is fast and friendly, they’re very generous with sides, and everything tastes delicious (I recommend the Gam Ja Tang, Al Bap, and Bulgogi!) Their Bi Bim Bap isn’t the best I’ve had, but their appetizers are fantastic. Will definitely come back more often! 18carrotgold.com
