– Big Disappointment – never to return. Our group of 9 people were the only people in the restaurant so the service should’ve been top notch. Sadly it was terrible.. The server kept disappearing and she confused our orders despite the fact that our names were written with our orders on a sheet she gave us. I ordered the Pad Thai vegetarian which didn’t taste like any Pad Thai that I’ve had before in Asian restaurants. The tofu was missing – only a few bits of caulflower and my accompanying coconut soup had chicken. When I mentioned it to her she laughed and said she would get some tofu but it never arrived. I ordered tea and water, had to ask again 3 times and the tea never arrived either. When we left over 2 l/2 hrs later , some appetizers ordered never appeared and a lot of food left on plates . The server didn’t offer any type of compensation for us – we paid our bills and quite certain no none of us will return.
Slow Service, Mediocre Food. I visited this restaurant today with a group of eight other people. The restaurant was deserted save for the people I was with. The waitress was slow to take our orders, and the food took forever to arrive. I ordered Pad Thai and was disappointed with what I got: a monster plate of rice noodles, far more than I could ever eat at one sitting, with a tiny amount of chicken and shrimp dumped on top. I tried to find the bits of cooked egg that should have been there, but there were none to be found. Many people ordered additional dishes with the idea of taking them home in doggie bags, but had to cancel the orders because they were attending a play, and by the time the orders would have arrived, they would have ended up being late for the play. The only good part of the meal was the shrimp rolls I had as an appetizer. If it hadn’t been for the shrimp rolls, the visit I made to this restaurant would have been a bust.
Good food, polite conversation, good value for your meal.. I dont know what yall are complaining about the food is amazing. very polite and friendly lady. the food is non greasy and tastes amazing. she took her time to prepare it and it was well worth the wait. so what if the place is not as tricked out as moxies or mandarin or where else, the food is worth the price, and i think ive found my new favourate restaurant for friday nights.
This is not a place where you sit and eat, that’s for sure. Although the owners are very nice people, the pad thai leaves little to be desired. It was dry and the sauce was pretty bland, although it was well portioned. Not worth the money, there are better places for Thai food in town. 18carrotgold.com
Absolutely Terrible. Bad decor doesn’t even begin to describe the atmosphere. More like walking into an abandoned laundry mat inside a prison. Cash only. Don’t ask for delivery unless you want to wait over an hour. Shrimp rolls were flat as a pancake and the tails were still on the shrimp. Cold rolls were ok but way too big and poorly wrapped so they kept falling apart. The same cheap peanut sauce came with everything. Chicken and beef dishes were bland and overcooked. Pad thai was dried out. Sticky rice was virtually unedible. Customer service was even worse when I took the food back for a refund. Don’t bother with this place, there are so many other fantastic little eateries in London.
So good. Really tasty thai. ive had pad thai at other places in the city but this is tops. humble little place and the decor doesnt matter. the food is made with passion. i actually prefer the decor the way it is cause it lets the food speak for itself. no pretensions. highly recommended.
Delicious. Authentic. Economical.. It’s worth the journey to the Old East Village. Simply the tastiest Thai food in London! Fresh to order food and wonderful hospitality make up for the tired store front. This proven mom and pop op has been open along Dundas for many years.
