Call me picky, but this place is really hit or miss for me. Over the past three years that I have lived close to the ByWard Market, I have visited this place maybe a couple of dozen times in total (all for takeout). The service provided has been excellent by a couple of the people behind the counter but there are some others in particular that are completely below par. They have raised the prices and for me, the service provided should also justify this – in my opinion it does not. Secondly, I always get the feeling that the portions that they measure out for you, in terms of rice, beans and the meat chosen (for the burrito) are not generous at all. If you are paying $12.43 including tax for a burrito, they better pack that burrito full and give you some friendly service! Not impressed. Customers need to demand better service and the service providers need to up the ante!
By far my favourite Mexican spot in the city thus far! It’s not that often that you find a Mexican place that is able to pack that much flavour and freshness into one burrito with out it ending up oily. I would suggest however that you stay away from their margaritas… They are quite disappointing.
I love this place. I go on the semi-regular and always order the same thing. Dos Carnes Burrito (Chicken and Beef). Always delicious. Friendly staff. Be warned, place is small so you may have to pick up and go but totally worth it. Drinks are a little pricey. Even a pop is about $2.50-$3 with no free refills, but otherwise top notch.
Food was good, I had a vegeterian burrito (with no rice ) the guacamole in the burrito made the taste excellent. The reason why I didn’t give it a much higher rating is because the chips and salsa which was advertised as 5 dollars was 6.5 on the bill… I was surprised but I didn’t say anything . All in all I would recommend the food to be taken away, the dine in can barley fit 15 people.
Good spot for a quick bite. They have take out upstairs and a cozy dining area downstairs. The fish tacos which I got was tasty. They give you a few options for levels of heat which is nice.
Burrito Borracho’s service was great. The server was excellent and the food was great. I ordered the steak burrito plate and the portion was good. I would definitely return for a quick lunch break.
I tried there food for the first time today. It instantly became a favourite. Their burritos are packed with flavour, and their fish tacos are the best in town.
