Been here on a few occasions. Great spot for patio drinks, but the service every time is so slow! And it’s not like they’re under staffed either. We waited half an hour to 45 mins for our drinks and when we were ready for our bill, it took another half for her to come check on our table (she never checked on our table again after delivering our first and only round of drinks). And took another half an hour again to give us our bill.
The patio is perfect for a hot summer’s day. Big trees provide ample shade and the patio overlooks a pretty busy intersection. Perfect for people watching…if you’re into that. Good Caesar but a touch spicy. Great appies!
Lovely pub with a great view of the city – probably its best perk is its prime location, almost across the street from the Art Gallery and within walking distance of the Byward and Parliament hill. It’s a fun place to go for drinks, and they can accommodate large groups in their spacious patio. The drinks are okay – I wouldn’t pay the full price for a cocktail there, however on Thursdays all 2oz cocktails are $6, which is a great price. Food is good, a little bit above average in my opinion for bar food. Chill vibe, they have a huge flatscreen for watching sports events, and music is not too loud – they play generic, subdued 2000’s rap hits.
My favorite place to go watch any soccer events (World Cup, Euro Cup or Champions League). The pub also accommodates for those events with schedules to remind guests. For big events such as the World Cup or Euro Cup, they would set up a livestream on the patio and that just adds to the atmosphere. hangsfoodbook.wordpress.com
It is nicer than it seems.I tried Angus Burger and drank a beer. All are fine. The staff is very nice. The prices are average. There are cheaper places or more expensive places than Earl of Sussex. But the taste is satisfactory.
Pretty hit or miss, although I do come here a lot. The food is overpriced for what you get, unless it’s the sweet potato fries, which are worth every penny. They also no longer serve brunch unfortunately. Service is good though!
How hard is it to make decent nachos?. Worst nachos I have ever had. Awful salsa and very little cheese. Veggies have nothing to stick to!
