Food was very tasty and the service was reasonable. However, we ended up paying double the price for what we ordered. As we were seated to have dinner, our waiter handed us the lunch menu (which we thought was the same as their dinner menu). We ordered two dishes, each was around $21. When we got the bill, the prices were $32 and $35. That’s a significant increase from what was on our menu. The waiter did not deny that the prices are higher at dinner but did not find it a big deal that he did not inform of us of the price difference at the time we ordered. Needless to say, that was an unpleasant ending to our nice evening out.
Excellent seafood and a to-die-for escargot. I also love the warm bread and olive oil mixture they serve before the meal. It’s a lovely lead-up to the delicious seafood that follows. The maritime platter is a great selection of lobster, king crab legs and salmon, with garlic butter, mushrooms and potatoes. Absolutely delightful. Ordered the shrimp & scallops entree as well, however, the spicy tomato sauce it was cooked in was not as flavourful as I had hoped. Very attentive and friendly service.
We went there for Valentine’s Day, the venue looked great. Our server was rude, prices were very expensive, I would recommend you to the keg which is just 2 blocks down the street or the whales bone on Elgin street. Do not come here, you will waste your money, your time.
I’ve been here quite a few times and I have enjoyed trying out the menu. The lobster linguine is very decedent and cat fish is cooked perfectly. The highlight of our lunch is the infused olive oil that comes with the bread. They sell the mixture in a bottle so you can bring home which is fantastic because it’s compliments a lot of dishes. My only negative is the service sometimes. On Friday during lunch there was no one to greet us, no cutlery, and no water was offered. A window cleaner bottle was left on the booth and our waitress was wearing a filthy apron. It makes you wonder about the overall cleanness standard. Other than that it’s a lovely establishment and I hope to see the staff maintain standards so I can continue coming back since I’m a big seafood fan!
We arrived just prior to the main level Fish Market shutting down for the afternoon (4:00pm). We had no issues ordering from the lunch menu, had friendly service and always had fresh coffee and water topped up. I had ordered the seared tuna with a salad. The fish was done to perfection, the salad was unique with a hint of horseradish. My wife had fish and chips (haddock). Nicely done. We finished off with the peanut butter chocolate brownie cheesecake (wow). Yes, it was a bit expensive at $74.00 before the tip, but well worth every penny!
The food was okay, and the service was fine. There was nothing special about our experience here. Nothing fantastic, but nothing horrible. I felt like it was slightly overpriced for what we got.
Me and my wife were at the market, like we do every week, to buy hot peppers and see what the street vendors are selling, and decided to go have lunch at the Fishmarket, for a good ol’fish and chip and a beer. So we started with some fried calamari, and for the main dish, a fish and chip for each of us. Cost us a bangin 75$ plus 10$ tip. The service was excellent so was the food, but the prices a bit high for what it was.
