Meh! Went for lunch today. While our server was delightful, that was about all of the delight in the experience. Service was slow (mostly the kitchen)…

I love this place! The pastas are all fantastic. The tartuffo is also amazing, but I don’t know if they make it themselves. My favorite thing is the building they are housed in, very cozy.
One of my favourite restaurants in the city! Romantic atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. The smoked salmon pasta never disappoints.
Not too bad of a place, could be better. Not that bad of a place. Was seated at the the basement, so it already had a different feel than a typical restaurant, felt more like a classic Italian restaurant with the stone walls, really nice for it being underground. However, the services was annoyingly slow, although it is easy to understand because the waiter serving us was also the hostess and the bartender and serving everyone else in the basement. After reading so many mixed reviews about the pasta, I decided to get the Salmon Picatta, and that dish also gave me mixed feelings. The vegetables, potatoes, and salmon had amazing seasoning; but the white wine tasted bitter for some reason and the roasted vegetables were a bit soggy, while the potatoes looked over cooked along with the salmon – but some people might like that kind of texture, so it really depends on the person. Despite the negatives, the dish had an amazing presentation and can really fill you up. My friends al had some pasta version and they were all full from just the one dish. The place is rather expensive, with the average meal being about $20. There’s honestly nothing really unique about the place or food, but if you are just craving for some classic Italian food that doesn’t add any wild flavours, than give this place a shot.
Very disappointed. We went there yesterday for a friend’s birthday there were 8 of us and what a disappointment, after a very long wait 2 returned their plates which were cold, I had the linguini with porcini, the lukewarm homemade pasta was very thick & al dente just like cardboard, and the porcini (having a very powerful taste) were just covering the pasta just tooo much…good thing their bread was wonderfull it’s what I finished my meal with, definitely not going back!
Impressed. Had dinner on the terasse yesterday. Very nice atmosphere, I liked the small restaurant feel to it. Small menu but hard to choose, everything sounded delicious. All 4 of us ordered something different 3 of them being pizzas and myself ordering fresh and perfectly cooked pasta. It was all wonderful and light. The bread as started was very good too and we also had bruscetta that were divine. Service was as good as the food. Looking forward to going back.
What a gem!. Whilst shopping in the Byward Market, we were recommended this venue in a local store. It was super quiet, being a Monday lunchtime, however Mentor took the very best care and with a warm smile waited table and prepared our lunch – we opted to share stuffed pasta shell dishes, as we couldn’t decide between us which would be best… The food was awesome! Perfectly cooked pasta, fresh, flavorful fillings and sauces, followed by the best tiramisu I’ve ever had (& I’ve been to Italy). I’m so glad I went not having seen some of the reviews, I probably wouldn’t have gone, which would have been a huge loss. Can’t wait to go back!
