2019/03/26Met up with an old colleague and friend at The Shore Club for dinner, to catch up and enjoy a good meal together. He made the reservation, and we had a nice, quiet booth in the back corner, so we were able to have a very good, very long conversation. We started out with a glass of Shiraz each. Full bodied and mellow. A few sips of wine along with some warm, fresh baked bread was a great way to start the meal. We decided not to have appetizers, and went straight to the main course. While we waited, our server brought us an amuse bouche with a small bite of smoked trout. A pleasant morsel. I ordered the small Filet Minon. I usually order steak with a medium cook, but the server suggested medium rare, which worked well. Lean, easy to cut, tasty from first to last bite. We also shared two sides: Asparagus and Grilled Marinated Wild Mushrooms; tender and earthy. We finished the meal by sharing a decadent Baked Alaska dessert that was lit on fire before it was served. Service was friendly, personable, and very good. Expensive meal, but well worth it.
