Zoe is an elegant venue. We were nicely seated near the windows. Great tea selection, food beautifully presented. Attentive service employees but the food was somewhat bland. Some of the little sandwiches were even dry. Happy to have experienced high tea at the Chteau but would probably not repeat it due to lack of value for cost.
We went for birthday lunch for my 93 year old mother. When we were seated we had to wait 10 minutes for service, 10 minutes before our coffee/water came and then another 15 after our coffee came before anyone asked if we were ready to order. Food took another 20 minutes to arrive.The food was over priced, cold and the servings very small for the price being charged. Three of us had french fries and all of the servings were cold and over cooked. My wife had the beet salad which came with 6 small pieces of beet, a total rip off.My brother had the falafal and the balls were so hard he could not even get his fork into them.Overall this was one of the worst lunches I have experienced in Ottawa and all for an exorbitant price.
I can’t rave enough about my afternoon tea experience at Zoe’s Lounge last weekend. The atmosphere and dcor were elegant and the service was amazing–nothing short of what one would expect from a Fairmont restaurant.What really blew me away, however, was the option of a vegan meal at the afternoon tea service. The assortment of vegan scones, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts was incredible. Even the non-vegans at my table were impressed with my selection. Although you need to book a vegan meal for the tea service at least two weeks in advance, the extra planning is worth it. Your vegan meal, combined with the vast array of teas offered, will be sure to give you the perfect afternoon tea experience.
Afternoon tea at Zoe’s lounge is a classy, elegant experience. The tea, desserts and sandwiches are all lovely and the service is friendly. It’s quite a steep price tag to pay, but definitely worth it once in a while. You are not paying so much for the food – (it’s afternoon tea, so portions are small), but for the overall experience.
High Tea. My sister and I have been going for years to celebrate our mutual birthdays so today we once again went for the high tea.Never experienced any problems for the last few years but today was an exception. I realize now I should have expressed my concerns to the server right away however I didn’t want to spoil the day. My concerns were with the bread used for the sandwiches which I felt was stale. The dessert was certainly lacking in the quality we have had previously a small tart and a dried piece of pound cake. Not sure what was going on today but as a result we will not be going back next year and I will not be suggesting high tea at the Chateau to any visitors. Feeling very sad as a result of this experience.
Perfect Pampering. Had afternoon tea here this past weekend and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was perfect, the tea and sandwiches were delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and took care of everything without us even needing to ask.
Disappointing. We took my 90 year old mother for afternoon tea on what should have been a special occasion, in special surroundings. Service was inattentive, cavalier. At a point, I could not get the attention of any of the staff, although several around. They seemed rudderless and unconcerned. The menu was below expectations. The supposedly ice wine marinated strawberries were anything but. We had to send them back. How can the Chateau justify this service is beyong me.
