Great brisket juicy, not over cooked nor over seasoned. Nice thick cut with a decent amount of fat. Mash was a bit plain but worked well with the bbq sauce. The vegetables were cooked well and well seasoned. Nice place to grab dinner if you are waiting for awhile.
Stopped in for breakfast. A server came immediately to take drink orders and brought them out quickly. Spouse and I both decided on the smoked meat hash. We we both quite impressed with how quickly the food came out considering how busy it was. Breakfast was tasty and portions were impressive.
I have always wanted to go to Caplanskys but anytime is was in Toronto I never had the time to get there & after eating at the airport location I wish I had made time to go because I did not know what I was missing. I got the chicken soup with matzoh balls & the reubenesque, which isthere spin on aReuben sandwich, & my wife got the bagel with lox. Everything was amazing the soup had a clean broth with lots of chicken flavor with 3 matzoh balls. The reubenesque was out of this world the smoked meat seem too just melt every bitethen add the home made sauerkraut & pickle & I never knew a sandwich good be this good.
Well, it’s not quite as good as their College St location. Of course the ambiance is way different. At the airport it is situated out in the open, between US and International Departures in Terminal 1 (before security). There’s a modern diner counter, plus a few small tables. I had the Corned Beef Sandwich. For $9.95 I would have liked a little bit more meat. It came out of the steamer and was freshly sliced. The flavour was okay, but I would have preferred a bit less fat.
