Best Afghani cuisine I had in Toronto. Superb taste and quality also very affordable. Everything was freshly prepared for us for a late lunch. Highly r recommended!!!
Went here for a dinner on Sunday evening. The place was deserted. Someone quickly came in from the back to seat us. Since we had the whole restaurant to ourselves we got the seats of our choice. We ordered the mantoo which had four steamed beef dumplings with a yogurt sauce. The server got us our drinks and appetizers quickly. The appetizer did not seem freshly made and tasted OK. It would have tasted better if it were hot. The sauce on top was pretty good.I ordered the Vaziri kabob platter which came with koobideh and tandoori chicken. It took a while for them to get our main course. Being the only ones in the restaurant it felt quite long. At least we were assured that it would be freshly made. When the mains finally came out they looked delicious! The rice was topped with carrots and raisins. Everything tasted amazing. They were quite generous with the portions and there was enough food for another meal.Overall the food was pretty good. The service however was a bit lacking in terms of the wait time for getting our entrees. There was a TV in the restaurant though which kept us entertained. The vibe is definitely more of a family restaurant than a date night kind of place.
Nowshak. I usually give restaurants 2 trys and unfortunately this restaurant didn’t keep up with their claims. I don’t understand how you can claim you are authentic Afghan and then sell Falafel. The first time I went there was only one person in the restaurant, who was the cashier, waiter and cook all at the same time. The bread and rice seemed to be microvaved or from the previous day. Their dumplings were okay (hard to beat the real mantoos from choppan kabob house which closed noe). The second time I went there I found a piece of hair in the food. Not very pleasant and that was it for me.
Great food, great place!. Mantoo, which is like dumplings stuffed with ground beef i believe, was scrumptious. my family rented out the restaurant for the party and they do a special there where they can make it as a buffet for a really great price, i would reccomend that for other afghan families that are looking for a place to just relax and not stress over family parties and what not. the service was outstanding everything was top-notch. they just opened recently but i see them having a great future in the business
Honestly it was the best afg food I have ever eaten!! I would suggest their mantoo, tandoori platter with qabali rice, their pita wraps are pretty good too. it’s unique, the atmosphere is great and service is amazing. If you’ve never had afg food this is where you should start 🙂
