We had a large group and visited during a non-busy time. The atmosphere and decor were ok. I had the general Taos chicken which was delicious. My issue is that all the food was delivered at different times. From the time of the first entree to the last entree was 42minutes. We had 11 people in our party. We found it unacceptable that they were not able to better time our food.
So this place is actually in a mall (Vaughn mills to be exact) which is never an appealing place to dine, but overall I have to say the food is not too bad. If you’re going to eat at this mall this is probably the place. The general tzos chicken may not be authentic but it is crispy and worth trying. The sushi is good enough that I usually grab a tray of 6 or 12 when I pass by
We love their General Tao chicken and Mongolian beef. The General Tao has a spicy sweet sauce coating the crispy chicken cutlets. Its sauce, flavorful and dark, starts off as sweet when you take a bite then kicks in some heat. The heat is the bearable kind, not enough to burn your tongue but just enough to have you sniffling after a few bites. A slight tang rounds out the dish quite well. The Mongolian beef is a dish of thinly sliced beef with scallions and garlic covered in a sweet sauce (Do pardon my pictures. We already started eating when I remembered to take a shot :P). The kids preferred the sweeter Mongolian beef. DD#1, however, was trying out her taste buds with spicier stuff so she took bites from the General Tao. We usually have some Seafood Chow Mein or vegetable fried rice for our carbs and to neturalize the rich flavors of our proteins. Most of the dishes cost between $10-15 and each dish is good for 2. A clump of veggies underneath the meat makes the serving seem bigger than it actually is, but its nevertheless sufficient. We order family style and share everything. wanderlustingmama.blogspot.com
Went here for dinner during the week. Extremely dead and service was horrible. We ordered three chickens and steamed rice… only ended up getting two chicken dishes and no steamed rice. When we got the bill, we noticed we had been charged. Brought it up to the waiter who then asked if we wanted to take the missing food to go. We told him no, he then took our receipt and was MIA for 20 minutes. Anyway, point is… service sucks and foods ok.
My family and I were very impressed with this mall-restaurant. The food was not overly salty as many other restaurants can be when it comes to Asian food. We ordered the cashew shrimp, pho beef noodle soup, buddha’s feast, and pad thai. Everyone was a happy camper, which is very hard to achieve! The servers were courteous and attentive too!
Great Food and great service! Have gone many times here and its one of my fave restaurants ! My favorite dish is their schezuan fish , its very tender and melts in your mouth . I also enjoy eating their dumpling soup especially on a cold day it warms you right up!
Don’t bother eating here. Food is underwhelming, I was a bit disappointed. The service was ok and restaurant had nice decor. Convenient location. I probably wouldn’t eat here again soon.
