2018/07/06Three of us were looking for something relatively fast and close to home for dinner, and we decided to try the relatively new Cafe Sanguiccio. Its a small-ish place, with seating for about 30, that features counter service. Pizza, pasta, sandwiches and more. There was only one other customer there while we ate. Given that they are in a small industrial neighbourhood, my guess is that they would be a lot busier at breakfast and lunch. Our son chose the Sanguiccio Deli, which is a build your own Sanguiccio. You pick the bread (4 options), two meats (7 options), cheese (4 options), and toppings (6 options). The bread was fresh, and the meat and cheese portions were decent. A good sandwich for $7.50. SWBMO opted for the Meatball Sandwich for $8 with added mushrooms ($1). Tasted good, but she felt it could have used a bit more sauce. I selected the Eggplant Parmigiana from the Specialty menu for $12, which came with some warm bread. The eggplant was nice and soft, and it was tasty, but the dish could have been a bit cheesier. Not sure that we would dine in again, but we might consider it for takeout.
