I don’t like being necessarily negative, as it doesn’t help anyone who is looking for honest feedback for a place they may want to try. Having said that, I find it almost a requirement to warn you before going here as it is a terrible experience all the way through as you get what you pay for.Atmosphere:This is a hole in the wall place that reminds of you visiting your friend as a kid who had parents with bad taste in decor. It was very plain, dull, and terrible. Doesn’t make you feel safe for what you’re going to eat. The one waitress sits there on her phone texting and watching videos, the guy who prepares the food isn’t in any chefs gear, doesn’t wear gloves, and is in jeans and a t-shirt like he’s preparing this in their living room which isn’t sanitary or desirable. Tables and chairs are poorly laid out and are in terrible shape for a restaurant.Service:Slow, and inefficient. The orders you write down take a long time to come and the server always seemed to giving you an attitude for the way you were ordering.Food:brutal quality. Badly cut. Sashimi still attached, way too much rice on the rolls and just tasted terrible. This is by far one of the worst sushi places I’ve ever eaten from, including days old grocery store sushi.PLEASE DON’T GO HERE. They charge a 10% service charge which is despicable. People who like this sushi must’ve never tried good sushi. Everything is terrible, poorly constructed, and poorly cut or cooked.
This place has been recently renovated and updated (much needed!). The all you can eat lunch service is always busy so the food is really fresh with a high turnover of produce and it is fast, and tastes great! Always consistently good, the service is not engaging but its all about speed, however he owner remembers us and our baby and will chat if time allows!
Very cocky young owners!!!. Took quite a while, been thinking a lot, did not want to write about these horrid place, but had to in the end. Just couldn’t pass this! So our family decided to do the Japanese buffet dinner (kids really wanted to go). Got there, there were only two tables at that time including ours. Not busy at all! One of the owner ( the short guy who stands behind the counter making sushi). He is so NASTY!!! He probably remember my husband and I from last time we had lunch buffet. When the bill came, we paid them but did not tip them because there is always a 10% service charge included in the bill. I guess he wasn’t happy because he expected a 20% tips and we’ve only tip 10%. Back to the dinner buffet scene. We walked in, not busy at all. There were 2 guys working in the front and one in the kitchen. The young owner ( the short guy) kept on looking at us with this creepy nasty look like here comes revenge. He (the short guy)was serving us, he purposely did not bring us our tea, plates, cups, utensils etc when it was not even busy. We had to ask for it. Later on a couple came in who sat near our table was a total different story. The short guy treated them so nice and serve them right away. You name it, he bring them tea, plates, cups, utensil etc. So I’m thinking to myself wow this couple must be a regular who tips them like20% or something. Or they did not know about the 10 % service charge that was included in their bill each time they dine there. Whichever it is, I mean I can see the evil and fake smile on him!!! Now let’s get to the bottom of the story. After we ate, went up to pay only to find out, they were trying to charge us a kid extra! Come on my youngest just turn 2!! $13 for a toddler? That’s really expensive consider the very poor service you offered us! You should be thankful we gave you that 10% service charge and you even tried to scam us some more?? Had we not look carefully at the bill, we would’ve just go ahead and pay! Overall, very, very, bad and poor service!!! A bunch of young owners lack maturity, who does not value their customer!! Last but not least, we used to be a regular there. We go there for lunch every week. At one point knowing they charge 10 % service in the bill, we still tip them extra. But now?? No way!!! You had fun doing your silly revenge?? Giving us dirty nasty look, whispering to one another of your people, ignoring us when we ask you for something, over charging us?? We are very HAPPY to say that we will NEVER eat at your place AGAIN!! NO HAPPY customer is NO HAPPY business!!! For everyone’s information, Mandarin does not charge 10% service charge (lunch).
