Fantastic Place. An amazing little place, tucked in behind Main Street Markham. Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. You are not rushed through your meal… and it is one you will want to take your and enjoy every mouthful. I have been many times. It is a favourite and I plan to go many times more!

Bad food, bad service. Went for lunch today. Had been here a few times before and everything was great. But today, it took sooooo long to get our food and the salads were disgusting. Looked like it had been sitting in dressing for hours, limp and soggy! One of the other salads was missing ingredients. It wouldn’t be so bad if we waited and the food was actually good!
Bad service, old fry oil. Used to enjoy this place, but last two visits have convinced me otherwise. Both times was ignored for ages by wait staff (repeatedly walking by our table). No water offered, had to wait at least 15 minutes at empty table/bar for anyone to even take a drink order. Then proceeded to be ignored again while attempting to order food (by multiple wait staff within arms’ reach). The nail in the coffin were the fries – the oil was sooooo old and burnt out I couldn’t stomach it (I eat at McDonalds and other greasy joints regularly, people). The even worse part, when the waitress cleaned up our plates with fully untouched fries, she didn’t even bother to do the math and ask why we hadn’t eaten them. For a place that prides itself on a being a friendly neighborhood joint, they really need to step it up or train their wait staff to be a bit more attentive. No plans to return.
Great Neighbourhood Restuarant. I am from Markham, so I can speak with authority that Johnny Bistro IS a neighborhood restaurant that has repeated customers and doing great business without printing a single ad on newspaper. Enough about that. About the food and service: Most dinner entrees taste good, and boy that portion, my god. Pasta is not as good as they claim it to be, but boy that portion, my god. Service is excellent always. NOTE: have a reservation unless you plan to get there before 6pm.
