We have also tried the coffee and original cheesecakes of Love Me Sweet at Yonge. The coffee flavour was quite distinct in the coffee cheesecake. It was melt in your mouth and bursting with coffee flavour. The original was good as well. Love Me Sweet’s original cheesecake was moist and fluffy. wanderlustingmama.blogspot.com
I adore this place! I was just wondering if this is authentic/Japanese owned?… and also Do the cakes have MSG Monosodium Glutamate/Hydrolyzed Wheat Extract or any other sublabeling of MSG in them? I really hope not, because I absolutely adore these cakes!
Love me sweet bakery is a new rival of Uncle Tetsu’s Japanese cheesecake. They have original, chocolate, and coffee flavours. Uncle Tetsu does not have chocolate or coffee at this time. I’ve tried all flavours of Uncle Tetsu but only the original and coffee flavours from Love Me Sweet. The cheesecake from Love Me Sweet is not nearly as good as Uncle Tetsu’s. I tried it warm and fresh as well as one day later after being refrigerated. Although the coffee flavour is prominent, it had an unpleasant sour aftertaste. Texture, flavour, aroma, none are as good as Uncle Tetsu. Also I think Love Me Sweet’s cheesecakes might be smaller too which is even more absurd because they cost slightly more than Uncle Tetsu. Luckily Uncle Tetsu is opening in Markham on Unionville Main Street this summer so we will have them as an option uptown. I gave 2 stars because they have different flavours and because they will allow you to call ahead to reserve cakes in case they sell out (which they often so). cookingwithalison.com
Japanese style cheesecake. Tasted close to Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake but the texture was not quite as smooth, rich and creamy. Nevertheless, at least there was no need to wait in line for hours and you could buy more than one cake at a time! Not a bad imitation if you’re willing to go north of Yonge and Steeles to get it. Cute store and packaging. Costs $10 plus tax. Tetsu’s is $10 flat per cake.
