An amazing family run restaurant. My family has been eating here for over 8 years and have never once been disappointed. It has a warm and comfortable environment, that we find very relaxing. Our favorite menu items include: Nigiri sushi, sushi dinner, and chicken teriyaki don. Their udon soup is the perfect remedy for the flu or just warming up from the winter blues. Their teriyaki is the best we have ever eaten (and we are true teriyaki connoisseurs!) We would strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
My favourite sushi place. Nice family run restaurant . Best sushi rolls and tempura ever. They are busy on Friday nights but the food is worth the wait. If you are trying this place for the first time, I recommend you go there during weekdays. Also, make a reservation if you are dinining in for more than 4 adults. They have a booth that fits 4-5 people but they can also put two tables together which 8 people can sit together. My favourite sushi rolls are: dynamite roll, spicy salmon&avocado roll, crunch roll , and hot sunkissed roll. I’ve recently tried a special roll called tempura spicy salmon roll. I wanted to order regular spicy salmon with crunchy tempura bits but their tempura spicy salmon was unique. It was actually amazing. They deep fried the roll so salmon was cooked, the roll was hot and very crunchy (best taste when dining in). If you want a regular crispy Spicy salmon, ask to make the roll crunch.
Return visit. This place is way over-rated. Ordered a simple nigiri sushi meal and it was small and uninspiring. Of 12 pieces, 7 were salmon and 2 were smoked. No variety and quality was just meh. Honestly the best part of the meal was the salad dressing. I looked at some of the photos and I think this place suffers from inconsistency. Service was ok. Ambience is poor. There was a steady flow of walk-in pickup orders which was distracting to diners in this small venue. Not a great experience. 60%
Nice sashimi cuts, quiet atmosphere friendly staff. chicken teriyaki was good also.
Loved it!!!. My friend and I (both Vancouverites who are used to eating uber amazing sushi) thought this place was great! It’s a bit tricky to find…need to go inside the plaza, but the owners are sweet, the food is good, the decor is cute. We thought the plated the food beautifully and everything was quite tasty! Would definitely go back!!
Marching away from Markham Sushi. This back alley find should stay hidden. While the sushi pizza was tasty and the spicy salmon rolls had good bite, the salmon sashimi was cut like thick Lego and the cali rolls were not any better than T&T take-out. The tea was flavourful, but apparently our dining time was interrupting their siesta as we were not checked on once during our meal, our tea pot was never re-filled, and we waited for-ever for the server to come by after we were done the meal so we could ask for the bill. Unlike other sushi places, Markham Sushi charges for every little thing, whereas most other sushi places will throw in apps for free, like edamame, miso soup, and salad. The prices are not competitive with other great sushi haunts in the area and I think I will have to discuss this lack lustre meal with my psychotherapist – I may have post-traumatic stress disorder from not going to my usual reliable fish house. I should have known that a sushi place with no asian diners would be a debacle.
Pretty decent. I forgot about this place til recently although I used to go quite frequently in high school (many years ago) :p it’s literally the same inside lol.
