Came to check it out since there’s not too many vegan places in Markham.Food is nothing special but a little overpriced for me. I got the vegan taco and it cost $9.50 and it’s something you can make at home for a fraction of the price.Even the other items on the menu were pricy. Probably wouldn’t come back.
Was my first time in raw restaurant. My family is vegetarian and we went for my birthday lunch. I was so pleased with the size of entre portions, they were really big and I would say nicely priced, like $16. Appetizers were all very good too. I was so full, didn’t even finish my dish. Everything tasted great! Stuff was friendly and attentive. Very happy that we have such place up north.
When my bf and I walked in, we were the only customers. Since we felt awkward as the only ones there, we decided to order a wrap and a smoothie to take on the go. Thankfully we did because their blender is extremely loud and made conversation in the dining room difficult.I noticed complaints in other reviews about the taste – but as someone who eats a very clean vegetarian diet – this palette is to be expected for CLEAN raw food. (Too many people are used to added sugars and artificial flavors – this is how real, healthy food tastes people!) I liked how creative their menu is given how hard it is to create diversity in raw food and we enjoyed our meal. That said, the price is insane. We paid over $25 for a small smoothie and a wrap! I’m sure they have a higher costs since their food is very perishable – but I just can’t eat here given the cost. It’s just not competitive, and if you’re going to treat yourself to eat out – I’d rather spend that amount elsewhere for larger serving sizes and a better atmosphere. I doubt many people’s desire to eat THIS clean would justify Rawlicious’ prices. Due to price and a deserted dining room atmosphere – I won’t be returning.
The issue that my boyfriend and I have with this place is that pricing doesn’t feel like it can be justified for what you get. The food is quite delicious and I’d be happy to visit again however, I’m just not sure if I want to pay $15-20 for my salad. Service was quite good as well. The place is very unique and comfortable.
I have a love-hate relationship with this place. Don’t get me wrong, the food is delicious and very rawlicious, but the amount you get for the price you pay is pretty rawdiculous (you liked that didn’t you?)! I’ve been here a few times now and it breaks my heart every time to cash out. Did I really just spend $7 +tax on a very tiny vegan brownie?! Yup, yup I did. If you’re looking just to snack or need a post-workout smoothie this place is great, but never ever come here super hungry looking for something to fully fulfill your appetite. You will probably cry then hit a burger joint right after (as a true vegan would do :p). thebambieyes.com
Fabulous food!. Had a delicious lunch with my work colleague who was slightly skeptical about raw food. He was converted by the taco and the Angus burger was delicious. Couldn’t recommend Rawlicious highly enough.
