Southern Aroma is fairly new in the Markham Area (at Markham Rd. and Elson). It brings South Asian flavours to life. I recently discovered Southern Aroma and have been there twice.Kothu RotiI’ve only tried the Kothu Roti twice at Southern Aroma but I feel it is the best Kothu Roti in town. They make their kothu roti more flavourful with indian spices rather than making it extremely spicy. The mutton Kothu tastes as though it has been slow cooked in a delicious gravy. The chicken kothu is a bit more dry but still has great flavours. The portion is enough for two people and the dish comes with a fried chicken and a few veggies. The mutton kothu is a definite must try here!BuriyaniI tried the chicken buriyani the last time I went and it was just as amazing as their mutton kothu. It tasted as though it had been slow cooked in a yummy gravy. I love the spices that they’re using in their dishes (tastes a bit more like masala).MurtabakI tried the Mutton Murtabak and it’s something I would definitely avoid getting. It was literally roti with a piece of mutton here and there. The roti was mostly empty. This meal was highly disappointing.AtmosphereThe interior is clean and has a nice south asian feel to it. The service was good.
