Reminded us of Monterey. Mexican music in the background and perfectly complemented decor compensated for the lack of space inside. Food is really nice and fresh. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and wet burrito. They have a patio , I would like to visit in the Summer months if in the area.
I believe this is the original location. As I’ve posted elsewhere, this is very good authentic Mexican food with prices that are fairly reasonable, but perhaps just a bit on the high side depending on what you order. My dish is is the enchilada platter. It’s surprising that really good Mexican food is so hard to find in the western GTA but El Sombrero’s got it!
We had been to this location of El Sombrero once before. It’s not a very big restaurant, and it is in a relatively small plaza. I wonder how much business they get. It wasn’t busy this evening, nor the previous time we were there. You order your food at the counter, and someone brings your meal when it is ready. They also gave us a basket of chips with zesty salsa. SWMBO ordered her 3 enchiladas with beef, chicken and pork. According to her, they were good. My Wet Burrito was loaded with all the fillings (chicken, beans, rice, jalapeo, guacamole, pico, cheese). It was flavourful and filling.
