FOOD: I had settled on the Enchilada Platter, which consisted of one enchilada and one taco, along with rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. I had asked for no beans and have a substitute instead however, the only substitute available was to add more rice. The platter was nicely-put together however, it didn’t taste as nice as it had looked. All of the items on the platter were lukewarm, even though all of the items were placed on my dish as soon as I had ordered them. The rice was clumped together, and colder than the other items, with little to no flavouring on it. The little guacamole and sour cream that I had received was placed on the rice, and luckily it was as the rice was too dry to eat on its own. The enchilada and taco were both much too small, with only a small bit of meat in each of them, loaded with lettuce and tomatoes instead. I was disappointed with how the items tasted, and had expected better.ATMOSPHERE:The restaurant tries to imitate an authentic Mexican shop however, with the cardboard ceiling covering resembling a hut roof, it failed to do so. There was a TV in the corner, along with about eight to nine tables, each with flimsy chairs which were uncomfortable. Also, the soft drink machine was placed in the corner at the front of the restaurantwhere nobody could see it. It certainly didn’t feel like I was in Mexico, that’s for sure!SERVICE:The young man whom served me seemed to be doing all of the work as there were two ladies sitting in the dining room eating, with one of them talking loudly on her phone, and leaving to go elsewhere. It seemed as though the young man was pleasant considering all of the work that he had to do on his own, while waiting patiently as I made my decision as to the items that I had wanted. COST: Enchilada Platter: $9.61 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?No. I found that the food was subpar, and I wasn’t impressed with the atmosphere, not to mention the high price for a platter that I could have made on my own for $2.
Awesome food. If you haven’t heard of this place yet, get out there and try it! Our family found this place one day and have honestly been going back there for over a year now. First off, the staff are great, very nice and friendly. All of the different meat selections are served hot and taste amazing. And the best part is, there is a different daily special every day, what’s not to love? It may not be the most authentic tex mex place out there, but give it a shot. pretty darn good
