Awesome sushi! Fresh and good quality. Highly recommend the red dragon roll and spicy salmon. The service is always good here as well. Also, they have great spicy mayo.
Sakai is truly a fantastic restaurant. It’s family owned and you can tell. The sushi is incredibly fresh, kimchee is some of the best you’ll have, and the miso soup is the best I’ve ever had – not just in Burlington, but at any restaurant in Toronto. The Korean dishes are equally fantastic. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. If you love sushi, Japanese or Korean food, make this a stop if you’re in the area. thechefandthedish.com
One of the better sushi restaurants in the Hamilton-Burlington area. Sakai is a great place for good sushi at a good price point. The staff is always friendly as well.
This is the second time that I have been to Sakai, and the second disappointment. I had the sashimi and it was just OK, certainly nothing special. The restaurant was pleasant and clean but the service was barely adequate. I will try another Japanese restaurant next time and hope for something better.
Love this place. I eat here all the time and now have my gf hooked on it. I would compare this place to the best sushi places I’ve eaten at in Toronto. This is a wonderful family run business. They bring in specialty items all the time that you just can’t find in most sushi places. The food is always fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese and Korean food.
It is a sad day for sushi fans!. After moving to Burlington I was excited to hear that Sakai was the spot for some decent Sushi. The next night I headed over and placed an order to go. I arrived home excied only to be let down Edemame was not washed.. It was not salted and looked dry.. The roles were edible but more rice then fish.. seasoning was not done properly. I was really disappointed. Since then I have found some others. I would suggest if you want good sushi head elsewhere.
Always Delicious. My only complaint is that the sushi comes with wasabi and I always forget to ask them not to put it on. Otherwise, the food and service are always outstanding.
