We dined in at Joya and the food was delicious! Great portions and good customer service! Will definitely revisit again! I especially enjoyed the miso soup and the overall ambiance
Take out order- eaten here multiple times now over the last year and I have to say this is easily the best sushi available in Milton. The salmon is fresh. The service is beyond good. Everyone is always saying hello when I enter. Im not sure why it has the lower previous ratings, it I definitely think its worth a try for all of you sushi buffs. Also, the Korean beef ribs are to die for.
FOOD:My mother and I had come on a Tuesday afternoon at around 12:15 pm for lunch. When we had walked-in, we were surprised to see that we were the only guests at the restaurant. We would remain the only guests for our entire stay, which was about one hour. We had settled on an order of Shrimp Tempura ($8.95), along with 2 Maki Lunches, which each included salad, miso soup, and 15 pieces of a variety of maki sushi rolls ($10.95 Each). My mother had requested vegetarian maki sushi rolls, while I settled with the ones listed in the menu.We first received our salads and miso soups, which were quite delicious. The miso soup was very hot (temperature-wise), and had excellent flavouring to it. The salad was also excellent-tasting, with a good amount, and a light dressing which was sprinkled over all of the salad leaves equally. We then received our Shrimp Tempura, which was also quite delicious, with the shrimp each being lightly-breaded in batter. The shrimp were also very hot (temperature-wise), with a great taste, very appetizing. In terms of the maki sushi rolls however, we werent too impressed. I had settled on the ones listed in the menu, which included salmon, avocado, cucumber, and salmon, and a spicy roll. I found that the rolls didnt taste as fresh as I would have liked, and the filling inside each roll wasnt very appetizing. We were given quite a large quantity which was nice however, the taste just didnt appeal to me. My mother felt the same for her rolls as well, which included pumpkin, sweet potato, and avocado and cucumber. ATMOSPHERE:When we had walked-into this restaurant, we were surprised to notice how large it was. There were many large wooden tables available for seating, along with a variety of decor on the walls. We also liked that there was a large TV broadcasting the local news, which was nice to hear while dining. We found that this restaurant was comfortable however, we were confused as to why it was very quiet during this time.SERVICE:When we had walked-in, we were greeted by a kind younger woman whom greeted us at the door. We then walked-by where the chefs were making the food, and both chefs said hello to us. As we were choosing our items, our server came over and answered any questions that we had. She also came to refill our water glasses throughout the meal; she was quite attentive at all times. Service was definitely a great asset for this restaurant!COST:1 Order Of Shrimp Tempura: $8.95 + 2 Maki Lunches (Included Salad, Miso Soup, And 15 Pieces Of A Variety Of Maki Sushi Rolls): $10.95 Each = $21.90: $30.85 + Tax = $34.86 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?Unfortunately, the sushi rolls werent as good as we had hoped therefore, Im not sure if I would return. I would have to see about ordering something else.
Good dining experience. Costumer service excellent and tentative. This is the 2nd location for Joya Sushi. The interior is kempt and welcoming. Ordered a small sushi and sashimi platter, Korean pancake, miso soup and tea. Delicious. The small sushi + sashimi platter came with spicy salmon rolls. Would definitely recommend this Japanese / Korean restaurant. It wasn’t the BEST I’ve ever had, would say its decent.
